Spike 12,049
This has to be one of the most haunting images in world football history, it also won best sports photograph of 2014..I agree but it pales compared to this.
hamad138 190
After broking the assist record, messi is considiring a new challenge in football. He thinks there is nothing to do at Barcelona anymore, since he fullfilled everything. He told his friends that he is considiring leaving( As , Mundo)
Atlas Lion 1,223
I agree but it pales compared to this.I wouldn't say so. Zidane has already been immortalized in World Cup glory in 98'. Whereas Messi at the peak of his powers and possibly the greatest setting, couldn't achieve the trophy he has desired over the most and won't probably ever will. Tell me again that Neymar cannot beat messi's goal record given the opportunity.

However, somehow he scored about 30 goals already without the prime barcelona team that messi had. Desperation must be high that you cannot admit that the goal record will be broken eventually. Yet Messi is playing in a deeper role due to Iniesta's and Xavi's depressed form, hence why Neymar is reaching those figures. His vision in the final third is the best since Laudrup. Do you watch la liga regularly? Or are you a stats whore? Ignoring the hilarity in Neymar ever out scoring Leo, Let's not rule out the possibility Neymar could leave Barca before Messi does. You think Messi would play with another replica of himself rather than prime xavi, iniesta and busquets...You can keep thinking that messi will retire at barcelona. GIve him all pks and fks, thats a +10 in goals every year. So, essentially 50 is easy for neymar.

NikeRise 1
Take Messi out, he'll be lucky to get 30.Doubtful... Neymar scored with a subpar brazilian team and is going to break pele's record for the national team...Neymar is nowhere near Messi in terms of passing, but goalscoring, Neymar is in the same level. That can't ever be rationalized considering Messi has been doing this consistently since 2008 and this is Neymar's first campaign in a top flight league where he is producing numbers. You can keep thinking to yourself that Messi's records won't be broken, but it will and the best bet is Neymar when barcelona forms a new team in the coming years and gets rid of that garbage in the name of sergio busquets. He dragged France to the final once again. He let them down, an entire nation in a burst of rage. Ultimately leaving his last act in football a disgrace.Zidane's photo >Messi's everyday. hamad138 190
Maradonna on his peak with full power was the best footballer of all time better than messi. He won almost the world cup 1986 alone, and in that time dribbling was so hard because everyone was making these crazy tackles and fouling non stop and still noone could stop him
Oscar 441
Absolutely no contest who the best player in the world is...However, one thing I always hoped from Messi is that he changes teams one day, so we can see him play in a different league with different guys. When Pep goes to City, who knows if Messi will follow suit.
