Mustafa 885
Messi is pretty much synonymous with the number ten, I remember when Ballack's agent made the 13 shirt part of the deal, which resulted in Gallas leaving because of Kenyon taking it without his consent. If this deal happens (it won't) but if it did.. Hazard would have to take Drogba's 11 when he becomes coaching staff, or go back to 17.Messi without 10, from a 'branding perspective', is like Nike without the swoosh.I see what you're saying and its interesting how recently Leo got a tattoo of #10 on his leg. Also, Gallas wasn't Chelsea's most valuable player when Ballack joined. I don't think Eden will be forced to give up the #10 if Leo arrives. Maybe at the start of next season (if Messi joins and Eden is still at Chelsea) maybe then there will be chopping and changing of kit numbers. But if it does happen in January, I think Messi is just gonna have to take the kit that cursed Fernando Torres' career. Even when Cristiano signed for Madrid he had to take #9. Only for a season but you get my point. la la la la la la la la la la la la Lionel Messi... Chelsea's #9 !!!

It's pissing Barca and rival teams fans off and we all know (at least I hope so) that it's just a joke and won't actually happen so there is nothing to be disappointed about. RoyalBlues 4,050
Lionel Messi is happy at Barcelona and will stay with the club until at least the end of his contract in 2018, says president Josep Maria Bartomeu. But Bartomeu said: "Messi has a contract until 2018, he is happy with the club and wants to win more titles."There is nothing to panic about in that regard. Messi is the central figure. The team is built around him."He added: "The whole footballing world knows that Barca don't want to sell Messi. For me he is the best player in the world."Catalan radio has claimed that the London club has contacted Messi's father and agent Jorge. But Bartomeu told a news conference: "These news stories are created to try to damage FC Barcelona. They are written with the intention of creating conflicts where conflict does not exist.http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30713278That should have enough to end the rumour.
