I think it just makes too little sense. The plan people keep describing involves Diego leaving and being replaced by basically a couple of young kids. Is Morata & Batshuayi as the main partnership truly wise? Two young guys like that in a hugely important season with a new manager and with the strength of this league now?

An experienced, proven goal scorer who knows the PL and is settled in the side is very important and that's what we have in Diego. Unless he is begging and pleading with the club to return to Spain it just seems idiotic to sell him.

Only if he's replaced by a veteran who's scored bags of goals at the top level elsewhere in Europe for a top team would it make sense. There aren't really any of those available. Higuain is the only one I can think of.

That's my choice

More?!

Today world, when Everton want 40 fecking million for Stones, Costa is worth at least 50m. At least.

But we should keep him at any price.

How Conte wants Chelsea to line-up (4-2-4):

Courtois; Ivanovic, Koulibaly, Cahill, Azpilicueta; Fabregas, Kante; Willian, Costa, Morata /Batshuayi, Hazard

A midfield two of Kante and Fabregas?:lol::lol:

And even worse, Cahill and Ivanovic still starting. If either of these things happen we're in trouble.

Hopefully when Conte starts work he will realise that Ivanovic and Cahill are absolute bog average and he calls an emergency cobra meeting.

We simply cannot effectively play with 2 in the middle with Fabregas. He struggles too much in there. We got away with it and blew sides away in his first half season before opponents started to figure him out and because Matic was in world class form. Even with Kante next to him you can't ask another DM to do the work of 2 men in midfield. Cesc would be a passenger and would be targeted.

Could you imagine lining up with a 2 man midfield against Mourinho who knows first hand Fabregas's frailty? He'd salivate.

Having more than one CM next to him is mandatory.
