Diego Costa

I've maintained this stance for a couple of months now, maybe even when his bad spell started, so don't slate me when saying this, that I won't be that sad to see the back of Diego. Don't get me wrong, when on form, his liabilities are well hidden and he manages to bully the defence, without actually showing his limited play, but when he has an off day... MY GOD.
The first thing, in my humble opinion, never keep an unhappy player. Guy doesn't want to be here or wants a better team, completely and truly understandable. Pay us a fee of 40-45-50 mil. pounds and well be off on your new adventures. Why keep someone against their will? They don't want to play for you anymore, that's fine. It's normal for a footballer. He has different views, as any other human being and he wants something else or something he used to have, in this case being Atleti. I'd sell him. Ofcourse, not for Lukaku and his ridiculous price tag, but who else do we really have as an option.

Second, I don't have the time to actually roll around the pages with my old post, but I've always said he's limited, so I am not gonna waste too much time. His first touch, heading, even using his strength is not something he is good at. If he has an off day his finishing lets him down too. Don't get me wrong, I love the fact he was tapping the badge when he equalised against MU, or how goes berserk every time he scores. But? What More? I, personally, dislike his technical ability, and would be okay for selling him. I think, ME Personally, that he can be replaced.

Lol as soon Costa appears on way out, people say Bats is already better striker...

Batshuayi is promising, but come on, stop with the overhyping.

Costa was arguably best striker in english and spanish league, Bats was not even best in french league.

If Costa wants out, it will be a big loss for Chelsea. But I dont want unhappy player. Hopefuly he stays.

On other hand lets wait and see how Bats does in league games and then start talking. If he fails whole forum will be pissed and butthurt because of the overhyping in last few weeks.

1.No one is overhyping Batshuayi.

2. LOL

3.It's not a loss if we sell Costa.

4. Batshuayi will be great.

The guy wasn't exactly keen to come here in the first place, so it's no surprise he hasn't settled and there's been constant talk of him being unsettled. He is one of those primadonna south american players like tevez, veron who refuses to learn the language, settle into the culture because of their stubborn attitude etc. It is very unprofessional if you ask me, and every player at this level should man up and say no if they don't want the move like Nainggolan did.

hopefully this is similar to when drogba sulked in his early chelsea career and even wanted out. However if he continues to sulk and does not put in the effort conte wants from him between now and end of august, maybe selling him would be best...

I really hope he stays.

He does seem unhappy, but I would assume it's because his prospects for the next season aren't too high. Hope something similar to Drogba happens and he stays even though at some point he wanted out. I'm not saying that we would be losing the best striker in the world, but Diego is class and replacing him with Lukaku is a big HELL NO!

However, if that attitude of him not wanting to stay keeps going, it's probably better for both parties to sell him. As much as I wouldn't like to see him go, nothing good can come from a player that doesn't want to be playing for you. Also ask for a ridiculous amount for cash. I mean seriously, when did striker's prices go up this much?

Ahh fuck him! Let him go! Now we have a boss in Conte running the show I couldn't care less if he stays! Got no time for divas like Costa! Great player but his attitude towards professionalism stinks.

With Atletico signing Gameiro doesn't this rule out Costa leaving ?

Atletico is the only club that actually wanted Costa and Costa apparently wanted to return "home".

So surely he's staying now.

Also wasn't it reported that even before they spent 32 million on Gameiro they didn't have the money to buy Costa.

No.

Simeone doesn't care about such things. Look how quickly he disposed of Jackson Martinez, despite paying enormous money for him. He'll take Costa back in a heartbeat if we gave them the opportunity to. So I don't believe Gameiro will make an inch of difference to Atletico's ambitions of getting Costa back.

Like him or hate him (as many opposing fans do), anyone would take Costa in their team. Though his retrospective bans have been annoying, I don't see any difference between himself and Suarez in their effectiveness in front of goal despite their ill discipline. Though the Uruguayan seems a lot calmer since his move to Barca..

Don't like one bit the idea of keeping a player who wants out. He wants to leave, let him leave. Club should be bigger than any one player.

I know you're comparing personalities/attitudes, but Costa is NOWHERE near Suarez in terms of ability. Luis is one of the best players in the world.

No doubt Costa would want a move back to Atletico. Atletico is a team that can win UCL next season, while Chelsea will even struggle to get top 6 finish in PL.

You sure you support Chelsea? Or are you just a big pessimist.

Just being realistic. Squad was weak last season, team finished in a deserved 10th place. Do you believe that suddenly this team will get a top 4 finish when all we got days before the start of the season is Kante and Batixuai. Being realistic is the best thing to do. Getting a 7th place at the end of the season is a real possibility.

I think Kante alone will improve us a lot. Add another defender and we are set. Im not saying we will win the league but we will definitely finish top 4.

Atletico won't win shit next season since they are chokers. They had 2 glorious chances to win CL but failed miserably both times.

We got a great chance of winning domestic silverware without European distractions. You get more than twice as much money for winning EPL than for winning the CL anyway. I think a top four finish + an FA and/or COC is within reach. Our rivals as of yet have only purchased hugely overpriced, overhyped players who will not drastically improve their first team. Our 2 major signings so far have been very sensible and greatly enhanced our chances of winning titles next season. If we can impove our defense, which I am sure Conte will, with or without signing new players, we can beat any team in the country on our day.

He turns 28 in October and his fitness is not the best. If he wants to go and Atletico offer 50 mil pounds, I say sell him.

Firepower will need to be added if it comes to that but just don't make the mistake of getting Lukaku. Lacazette is the only striker I can see making an impact, looking at realistic targets.

If not him, place faith in Michy up top and play Eden in support. Remy, Pedro and Traore as back-ups. And throw money at Mahrez.

Courtois

Azpilicueta Zouma Terry Kenedy

Mahrez Fabregas/Matic Kante Willian

Batshuayi Hazard

Fix the left side of defence and you have a good team. Capable of becoming better than good.
