He's absolutely horrendous for Spain. There's no space to run in behind and he doesn't have the technique to participate in their intricate passing style. Choosing them over Brazil is hands down one of the dumbest decisions of all time.

Death, taxes, and Diego Costa's hamstrings being jerks.  The timing of the injury is especially cruel considering that Diego has managed to stay healthy pretty much all season, unlike last season and the season before when the hamstrings were a constant cause for concern.

If we sell Costa now, we're bigger idiots than I thought. No doubt, on form, he's one the most clinical strikers in the league. If we can keep him fit and healthy for the entirety of the 2016-17 season then we have a true shot at the title. With an inform Hazard, Fabregas, Costa, Willian we can replicate the early 2014-15 form where we dominated the league.

Of course we have to replace the useless Pato, Falcao & Remy but unless someone like Lewandowski suddenly decides he wants Chelsea and no European competition  then Costa should be our #1 striker.

It doesn't look good does it despite reports that Antonio Conte has met with him on more than one occasion in recent weeks.Diego Costa was left out of the Spanish squad for the Euro 2016 competition starting this week and that would have been a blow to him. I just wonder if he thinks that he needs to go back to La Liga to get back into contention.If Chelsea are going to force their way back into the top four then we need to hold onto our best players. 42m is a decent sum for Costa but the problem is that no one will sell us a player of his calibre for 42m. These Spanish and Italian teams are sending bench players for that price to the premier league teams. We should not sell unless we get that much money in pounds, which will still not be enough imo to get a similar class player.

It wouldn't be bad. But honestly I think we should add to costa because we need two strikers in our team. Having costa as the only good finisher in our starting lineup is a bigger problem than people think.

If Costa really wants to return to Madrid, then we should allow him to. We saw last season how useless he is when sulking.

Morata would cost the same, but in pounds. 42 mil euros is about 32 mil pounds

Morata is not lone striker IMO. If we sell Costa, we would need a proper replacement out there, but I dont see anyone on same level in term of scoring goals, and proper mentality. Costa gives his all in games, while I have my doubts on players like Higuain or Auba,

We had shitload of problems with strikers and Costa is the only one to work since Drogba. Unless Lewa, Aguero or Suarez is available, I would not trade Costa at all. Buy Morata and we have a formidable pairing for the next few years like we had with Didi and Anelka. Or with Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen.

Thinking about that, we were always realy realy good when we had two strikers on field. I think its time to try it again.

Diego is amazing, at one point last season he single-handedly carried us to draws/victories. I'm sure him and Morata would be an incredible partnership. Imo they would complement each other very well.

With the arrival of Batsuhayi and possible Morata he seems on his way out. Would be hard to take because despite his antics he offers many things like good runs, movements and obviously goals. But if he really wants to leave us for Atletico we should let him go, we need a calm season to rebuild our team and don't need irritating sagas off the pitch.

I'm wondering if with a departure of Costa, could it be the end of us playing hoof ball to the big guy up top? If someone like Morata came in, we would have two technically efficient forwards rather than a target man.
