New Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is known for his tough tackling on the field – but it still comes as a bit of a surprise when you learn who he’s named after.

The 19-year-old Frenchman takes his moniker from Jean-Claude Van Damme’s character in Kickboxer, Kurt Sloane.

He was given the name by his parents, who were apparently big fans of the Belgian actor and martial arts expert.

As a JCVD Fan this has made my day :D

maybe ,they dont want to play a player, they no longer own

That's normal as the term adjust for the future, its very understandable to want to keep the player on loan as a good depth player. I mean he played in the friendly that could be a reason but I think it's more about working on tactics that will benefit their future, a future Zouma is no longer a part of.
