Blue Armour 4,439
Of course he is but then again, surely, even AVB can make mistakes - the substitution against Valencia comes to mind. Just because AVB chooses to keep him won't necessarily make it the right decision and does not mean that we can't question it. At least not after seeing Kalou get worse every game over the past couple of seasons. The longer you keep it the bigger the problem.Anyone can make mistakes, but surely no-one would have guessed Kalou was dead certain to give away an own goal...AVB has and wants to keep his entire squad happy by being fair to every player on it. That much was clear from his interview regarding Josh. There's always a chance that half the squad gets injured and Kalou will have to step in, so AVB's just trying to keep him interested. Kieran. 6,317
Consider what Kalou has achieved thus far is his career compared to say Torres, who is only a year older than him. Then look at some of the younger players like Sturridge an Mata who actually have an impact on the team and bring something virtually every time they play. Kalou isn't old by any means, but if he hasn't proven himself to be worth while by now then he hardly looks likely to. He seems like a nice bloke and all, but as far as being an important player in this club goes... well, he's just not. Get rid of him.I never put that together. Kalou is only a year younger than Torres. Wow.
Naked Mole Rat 437
The only reason I can imagine AVB would want to keep Kalou for is that he thinks he can help Kalou realize his potential. I've had this feeling since the beginning of the season, but Kalou hasn't played a single game in the PL since he was withdrawn in the first half against West Brom. Surely, if AVB had the sort of faith Carlo had in Ramires in Kalou, he would have played more, which leads me to think that this is all about the club's not wanting to let him go for free, and that's not a good thing. Kalou isn't good enough to be part of our squad in any role, so there's no point trying to keep him, let alone keep him happy. But since I realise that many here still feel he is, and that we should give him time to "realise his potential", I'll just let this rest for now. Popular Post! manpe 10,861 Posted October 22, 2011 Popular Post! Share Posted October 22, 2011 I find it funny that after Kalou got his cameo against Genk and scored his routine tap-in and didn't generally disappoint, a whole new but old discussion arose again... not surprisingly seeing some people stating that he may be actually a good player in a hibernation cycle of 5 years (and hoping that the new contract as a sign of faith will finally unleash the sleeping bear). I'm not getting into this discussion in any more depth, I still think he's shit for us. Tomo 21,751
I would love it if Kalou scores the winner for us in the CL final, would there be more comments about us being champions of Europe or would the focus be more on Kalou getting a "lucky tap in" Ray.

I think it shows intelligence and good movement. I mean it's all raul and inzaghi ever did, and they're the best strikers in the history of european competitions; but when Kalou does it its lucky.....amazing. Popular Post! Kojo 4,676 Posted October 22, 2011 Popular Post! Share Posted October 22, 2011 King Kalou will end his career with Chelsea and retire as one of the clubs greatest. And when he passes we shall place his ashes under the other penalty spot, across from Peter Osgood's! Kalou will never retire, he will always be a Chelsea player, even when he's 70. laura90, francozola, lecter and 2 others
