it was just one of those nights. i mean how often do u see lamps missing a sitter from inside the box. plus whu defended valiantly. bodies on the line stuff. on the other hand jose missed a trick here. lamps should have been a must for this match. the man city game on monday did play its part in the team selection. the movement of our front 4 is hopelessly 1-D.

inspite of having 73% of possession, we were caught offside only twice. one of them was iva if i remember correctly. just goes on to show the movement of etoo which is absolutely shit. nothing is done behind the defences inspite of having numbers.

also the set-pieces. FUCK-MAX!!! 13 corners and we cant score a goal inspite of having JT, GC, and iva at the same time. i mean how hopelessly shit are willian's corners. i mean put a fucking decent ball in the box instead of repeatedly hitting andy fucking carrol on the near post. the ones that dont hit the first man are lobbed at the edge of the fucking box. poor very poor.

as for our general crossing of the ball, iva, rambo, azpi - simply pathetic.

cech - good game. made a great save in th 1st half. in hind-sight i hope that had gone in. atleast would have been a wake up call for us. 8/10

iva - inspite of having 5 yards of space, his cross somehow always finds the LB. not an easy thing to do at all. the worse was to see him play on the left and try and cross with his left. poor decisions from jose. 5/10

GC - had a poor match. got on the wrong side trying to nip the ball back a couple of times. let stewart fucking downing go past him. but given how good he has been recently, lets call it a one-off. 6/10

JT - was a rock. tried his best towards the end to get involve in the attack, made a couple of good runs only for our mid to suck the ball and simply make those unwanted passes between themselves. 8/10

azpi - no link-up play with EH. does not have a left foot so more often than not ends up passing back to JT or square to mikel. cant cross (not that AC can). all in all cant see what he is doin on the left and iva is doin on the right. 6/10

mikel - SLOW. dont get me wrong, he had a good game. made a couple of good long passes but his overall slowness and uncreativity simply screws up the momentum. was not a match for him. but no doubt that he should be starting against city. 7/10

rambo - what the fuck has happened to him. when he was playing as a right wing back, all he had to do at one point off EHs flick was to drive the ball low into the box, instead he did what he does. very poor performance, and one that u dont expect of rambo. but the only good thing is that he always comes back stronger and god knows we need him against city. 6/10

oscar - not at all impressive. his overall play does give his stability and all but at what cost. whu dint even try to play, forget about playing in theit own half and oscar's pressing coming to use. he was simply nullified thru out the game. u know everything is not hunky-dory when u r taking shots from 35 yards out or your best chance of scoring is from a moment of magic rather than proper play. would not be suprised if he is dropped for city. 6/10

willian - tried and tried and then tried somemore. but simply could not find that final ball. i remember him putting a lobbed ball to etoo twice but only for adrian to come and collect it cos he was so late in making that run. he can have all the ball he wants but with no movement upfront, its simply useless. 7/10

EH - looked like our best bet for scoring. on days like these he should simply adopt a CR attitude, say "fuck u all" and take shots. would be interesting to see him against city. hope he turns up as well. 8/10

etoo - cant even start to write all that he did wrong. nonetheless, his link up will be useful against city. hope he plays as a ST rather than an AM. 5/10

subs -

lamps - should have started. should have scored too. by his standards, missed some sitters. just one of those nights. 7/10

matic - very very poor. what was wrong with his first touch. how nervous was he? very disappointing outing. 5/10

BA - did what a ST should. stayed in the box, a flick here, a run there. i dont know why jose is giving him the cold shoulder. 7/10

jose- messed up today. well no one is perfect (he comes close to that though). no doubt he will bounce back.

Everything has been said already, but I really think people are overreacting. YES, the result was bad, and we need to improve our finishing. But the mere fact that people are so disappointed shows that we are up for the title this season, which is amazing. Jose has turned us into contenders in such short time. Amazing, really.

These odd results WILL happen once in a while with a team like ours. We have no striker to rely on to score the lucky tap in, but that ability to clinically convert our chances will slowly, but surely come. I feel rather confident about the City game, have a feeling the players will be right up there.

And lastly, JayC is a complete and utter moron. I know it's not nice to wish for someone banned, but he is the epitome of United supporters. A cheeky, pathetic and stubborn cunt. Sorry.

I'm not sure it was only a striker.

I didn't see the game but the line-up was quite negative, far more negative than the one against Stoke. Like we would rest the players playing deep and letting our front 4 do the work and reading stuff about our first half was a bit like that until we pushed with more people.

It was a bit like that against Hull when the front 4 had to do all the work between themself and had difficulties to break them.

Looking at our line up, the fullbacks were chosen because of their ability in duels and Ramires Mikel are not good against team defending deep, Mikel is too slow and safe and Ramires is not a great passer and recycling the ball fast.

Well saying that you clearly didn't watch the game, the whole team gave their best many different plumbers tried shots on goal but it was like a brick wall. West Ham had no intention of trying to win the game they just put their whole team in their box for practically 90 minutes.

If the ref had done his job for once we could have had easy 3 penalties god one would have done it would have been the emptiest the box was all game but of course he didn't want us to win he gave them many poor decisions and ignored so many bad tackles on our players

Can't blame West Ham for playing the way they did, it proved to be the correct one for them. The lineup from Chelsea however was rather dissapointing and shows how much Chelsea lacks some strength up there. Ba could have been the solution to that, but he came in way too late, although still managed to do a few good things. Also rather dissapointing with players like Mikel who offers absolutely nothing offensively starting when the opposition is playing with 11 in their own box.

Also jesus fucking christ, learn to cross Ramires.

Tony Gayle was also fucking annoying, you can tell he loves 'typical British football', hit it up to the big man... sorry mate football has moved on, far too long has the English game been held back by that type of football. Seria A in the 90's was miles ahead of the English games in terms of quality and tactics.. finally we have moved on.

I know a few teams still do it, nothing wrong with it, but i hate when commentators try and big it up. You constantly hear commentators (who are ex pros) say i love this type of football, or something like "now a days players cant cope with the physicality" fuck off mate, football has moved on for the better, it's like they would rather watch West Ham vs Stoke than City vs Chelsea...

I remember when Andy Gray said "Messi would struggle in a cold night at the Britiannia Stadium", that type of backward thinking is laughable. I'm sorry for this rant, but Tony Gayle really irritated me yesterday, constantly wanking over Andy Carroll and that type of football.

A result? They got a draw, what sorry excuse of a team calls a draw a result? Oh yeah, ones fighting relegation, cunt!

This is sounding very bitter.. I am very amused by Allardyce, he is a funny man, putting Mourinho in his place... Mourinho, who thinks he is such a media genius, getting humiliated like this, it is hilarious, I think.

Also, everybody complaining about the West Ham tactics, you are sounding like Barcelona fans. Stop being embarrassing. This is a very valid way to play football, when one inferior team is playing a superior team, this is the only way. I was happy to see this, it brings back good memories of 2011/12 Champions League...

Listening to Gayle last night was fucking laughable, even my 7 year old kept saying "Dad is this mug for real" he kept saying everything that wasn't correct constantly. He was willing WHU to get a goal and or point all game. This guy is a complete tit of the highest order, he isn't even anywhere near the standard of what a commentator should be.

  • The most damning statistic of the match was not that we had 35 odd shots, but that west ham only 1 shot.
  • While their ultra defensive attitude was the primary reason. I think as most would agree we just have a tactic and defensive shape that is more aligned towards defensive solidarity than attacking play like Liverpool or City.
  • Latter 2 s tactics are spot on when they face these teams.
  • But my question is when the opponent has only 1 shot the entire match, why not compromise on some stability and commit men forward.
  • Although hindsight is wonderful i will argue was mourinho really expecting a big Sam's team to come attacking.
  • I wish that some irrelevant game we try 2 up top and play with only 1 holding midfielder.

Finally there are 2 ways at looking at west ham having only 1 shot

While some would say the defense was very good, I would say it is inexcusable to not score in a match where the opponent has only 1 shot.

It simply means our team was afraid of not conceding over scoring especially in the first 60 mins. Our recent defensive record is remarkable but when you are not scoring it means nothing.

No, I just think it's a bit pathetic of both of them. I never criticize a team for parking the bus because we have done it many times, but getting cocky over a point is stupid. Fair enough if fat Sam got 3 points, but he didn't.

It's a good result for them, but I would just be quiet about it. His team are shocking and are probably going down.

On the train back from last night's game some bloke said Messi wouldn't last 2 minutes in the PL , i challenged him on it and had him tripping over himself.

As said previously, cant blame the team. was due to mous shit team selection and awful substitutions. we are now under pressure against City, but their style of play favours us more. of course we also had bad luck againgst West Ham, but mainly it was due to Mous shit tactics and negative approach.

Can tell that he was really enjoying the result and watching us struggle to score past West Ham. I'm sorry but he really couldn't be more of a twat, even if he tried.

One of those games. Couldn't break them down in the end. Another day and we break through early and we win 5 or 6. It happens. Thought lamps was gonna bury it at the end though.

Exactly, it wasnt such a bad performance. It was just that the resut didnt go our way!

Incredible how people are giving up on the title and everything. What did they think? That we would go 100% until the end of the season?
