SUN:Mourinho transfer target tells Conte he wants reunion with former boss at Manchester United

Quote

Nemanja Matic is apparently interested in continuing his professional relationship with the man who once oversaw possibly the worst moment of the Serbian midfielder's career, when he was yanked off the pitch after just 27 minutes as a substitute against Southampton.  But never mind that blip; Matic is keen reciprocating Mourinho's supposed interest.Chelsea star Nemanja Matic has told new boss Antonio Conte he wants to join Manchester United.-source: The Sun

Boom?Granted, it's just The Sun, so you know, pinch of salt or seven, but the story does fit into the greater emerging landscape in which Nemanja Matić may not have a future with Chelsea and would rather follow his old boss up north.Until now, all rumors along these lines had come from Mourinho and his new club's perspective.  This is the first time we're hearing of what Matić might want.If he wants a reunion and Manchester United are willing to part with a healthy chunk of change, I suppose this might actually happen.  But we probably have a ways to go before we have to concern ourselves with that possibility.

The thought of selling any player to United shouldn't even enter our clubs heads. Don't care how poor he was last season. Too big a risk of him coming good again and haunting us.

I'd be furious if we did.

I'm still trying to get over the Mata transfer in all fairness!

People were complaining why Martinez didn't let Stones leave, but if Matic wants out, he must stay, no matter what he wants.

If a player really wants out, why should he stay? Fed up with half arsed performances...

But if United wants someone from us, i want someone in exchange.

Thinking of Schneiderlin or Herrera.. ?

Agreed. He is rubbish outside of a robust system, the archetype of a 'system babby'. He only looks like a fantastic DM when everything is funnelled towards him.

he has looked better than any other dm in our pathetic double pivot system, it forces players to be limited and rigid .

I don't want to sell him to rivals, but our board can't surprise me with anything. It would be the most stupid thing to sell Matic exactly to manure with mou as their coach.
I'm against selling him anywhere, but if Conte doesn't want him - sell him to Juve.

And you don't think that if Mou wants him yet again he won't surround him with players that will get the best out of him? Of course he will.

Sell him if we get both Nainggolan and Kante, but no way on Earth sell him to United. You can't send that message to rivals that your players can be had. Do this and what's to stop City or United from making a run at Hazard or Wilian?

Business between anyone that can potentially stop Chelsea from winning the league should be strictly off limits. Not even a discussion should take place.

I didn't say sell him to Man Utd. Thanks, though.

There must be a bug, can't see any text...<_<

Hmm maybe it sent without text dunno...

Anyway I said that everton to us is not exactly rival unlike chelsea and united and therefore situation isnt the same IMO. We shouldnt sell Matic to them purely on fact that they are rivals and Matic together with Mou could make them stronger. Something different would be if Matic wanted to join stoke or west ham. We should not sell him to rivals regardless of his wish. This is football. I wouldnt sell him tho because I think he will come good. Or if he wants to leave, then sell him anywhere but to rivals.

I do agree about exchange. If they want Matic, they should give us someone valuable to them. Luke Shaw...

Definitely should not sell to United.

Regardless of the money, it stings to see Cech at Arsenal, Mata at United, Lampard at City, de Bruyne at City (even if we didn't sell him to them). David Luiz at PSG however is Okay. So was de Bruyne at Wolfsburg.

Lmao, it'll happen. I'm used to such decisions now, we're determined to do everything to strengthen our rivals but not ourselves

Frustrating,

All other top clubs completely avoid selling to rivals. Modric to Chelsea , Rooney to Chelsea,
