Clockwork 1,794
I've soured on him to be honest. He isn't really Makelele or Essien, he won't control or dominate games. He's a pure destroyer with ambitious passing & decent ball carrying ability.Matic is fantastic when the the team is aggressive and pressing. Unfortunitly we don't play that way under mou in a lot of cases. Playing passive and disciplined does not fit his strengths. DYC.
LDN Blue 7,903
I remember the days when he was the best DM in Europe according to some of yous.... and now he's not apparently. Fickle. Hes a top player but he was never the best DM in Europe and he's been quite shite the last while. Needs to up it, gets dragged out of position too easily, he is vital to Cahill and JT more than anything. Tbh, under those circumstances it was understandable. After countless seasons of Mikel being our undisputed DM, Matic was a breath of fresh air and that's why we all got excited. He was excellent too, every pundit in the country agreed to how vital he was & is. DYC.

MrBlueGuy 1,552
Terrible start to the season, he needs to get his head down and works hard again because I believe he might have been getting a bit too complacent hence the drop in form. Ok, he gave away a penalty, but any aggressive DM will sometimes give away a penalty l
The Skipper 20,609
How was this a shocking performance? Ok, he gave away a penalty, but any aggressive DM will sometimes give away a penalty lHe was all over the place and not usually his dominant self. He massively struggled. Both him and Fabregas are shadows of themselves. Gilvorak
MrExcalibur100 7,124
Apart from the avoidable penalty, I thought he was superb, at least defensively. Fabregas is going to tire out Matic in the 2nd half of the season leaving him to do a 2 man job in midfield. Amblève.

I think next week we will see a different Matic and Fabregas. The lack of wins was creating a mini panic. This win will help. Also, note that the duo was doing fine when Chelsea went on the 3 goal streak. Terry's red changed all that. Stats

Popular Post! BlueLyon 9,359 Posted August 23, 2015 Popular Post! Share Posted August 23, 2015 I absolutely hate that some players have to do the work of others. Willian to fix the mess Iva makes, Matic to cover for Cesc etc. And that effects the whole team because Matic and Willian cant play normaly then. We need more balance. dmode 113
He's become the midfield version of Ivanovic. Please stop. He is not. We just won a game with a man down and scored 3 goals against a decent side. Stop moaning

Pedro was the catalyst for us going forward, Matic and Cesc didn't have much to do with either. I have very high standards for both. They were the best pairing in the PL last year so they need to step up to that level again.
