No lets not have someone who knows more about gaelic football derailing the thread that now is settled with the terrible performance of Rammy (who was on his own) and the useless Obi Mikel hauled off again and our seven year mistake ,his sideways passes and lack of fight left Rammy isolated yesterday and he suffered as many others have who have the misfortune to partner him over the years . Useless and hauled off again yesterday and given the run around by Ireland ,protects the back four? I dont think so.

Time for him to show us what a good player is somewhere else, you dont get dropped and continually hauled off if you are a good player,it is because when you get the chance you let the team down on a regular basis and the team are destined to lose a match very soon as the stats suggest because Mikel is playing. The slow sideways passing stats mean nowt and the notion that he protects the back four is laughable.

Has the Mikel love in ceased then? You are all going to sadly miss that 90% successful pass rate when it is replaced ,the only issue is ,will he hang around a pick up his salary for the four years he was given on contract by Emenalo? and will any other club in the world be stupid enough to buy him ,I think he would fit in well at Spurs.

The best midfield would be Luiz alone in a sweeper style role, and add a second striker up front to help the current isolated lone man. We can't defend anyway so why not just go for it and outscore teams!

Yeah i like the idea of that also, epecially against physical teams it would even it up with our 3 amigos, ivan, cahill, terry to give a more balanced team, also Ramires/Oscar would give loads of movement&energy in this area especially when we dont have the ball

Luiz/Mikel/Ramires/Lampard.

I have to say I'm keen on the Rami / Luiz combo. Better distribution than Mikel, good defensively and good going forward.

Rami and Luiz form the greatest midfield partnership of all time potentially and we are set to dominate Europe for the next 8 years with them so no need to buy any midfielders for the foreseeable future. The way they controlled the tempo of the game, linked defense and attack seamlessly and distributed the ball expertly against Hull is stuff of legends. even Xavi and iniesta would be proud. :Goober:

Mourinho seemed to think it was a good idea, even if you dont.

Jose is doing it cause off current lack off options not because he wants to, he wants Luiz in midfield about as much as he wanted Essien atCB in 2007.

When MVG returns to go along with the hopeful arrival off Matic, only a injury crisis will mean Luiz ever returns to midfield.

Luiz in midfield is a plaster on the wound solution, at best.
