Still, I would be happy with top 4 and maybe a domestic cup with a run in the Champions League. Jose is here for the long haul, and tbh, we have had good seasons even when they seem bleak.Top 4 is not good enough, what difference is that from our one under the FSW last season? JDY 1,290 Posted November 9, 2013 Share Posted November 9, 2013 We deserved to lose today. West Brom were exceptional defensively whilst carrying a threat on the counter (mainly set pieces though). Against the teams who sit with 10 men behind the ball it seems we have zero intensity in our attacks unless we are a goal down. It's getting to the point where it's actually easier to win against the better teams who will actually play more open than these type of teams.From where I was it looked like a really soft penalty. I thought the referee was going to book Ramires for diving and was shocked when he gave the pen. Haven't seen any replays on TV but the guys on the radio were saying it was a blatant dive. As a team I thought we were poor, individually poor to average. Lampard in particular was non existent when he was on, other than his yellow he had zero impact on the game. Considering the circumstances of the result I'm so much more relived than disappointed with only a point. West Ham game is a must win now if it wasn't already. Yes but a title challenge would consist of beating WBA at home. Today was not challenging. I'll see where we are in terms of points when we face Arsenal in december. He is clearly not good enough to play as a RB going forward, he offers nothing but 1 good cross out of 15. It' not as if we have Drogba in the box, we have Eto'o who is pretty small. No connection between players, no creativity and no control. Our offense looks like they were never going to score, everyone tries something on its own and loses ball eventualy. Crosses go in deep space, no one dribbles or takes on players sucessfuly. Oscar was also terrible in his playmaking, he is just too young to control whole team attack. There are soo many problems in this team, invisible strikers, uncreative midfield, worst fullback crossers and no connection at all. Except for last 20mins when we pressed (but still didnt realy create much), our performance was terrible. How did Mourinho motivated team before this game, I will never understand. Start playing Ryan and Azpi (in proper side), give Mikel a run and dont rotate squad every fucking game. We need stability by playing same team week in week out so that these players get to connect each other. Before Ramires runs into Steven Reid he's already on his way down and the referee fell for it - I'd also like to question why he was allowed to referee this game given his local connections.Mourinho also proved himself to be nothing but a tit in his after match conference.We were good. Defended very well and denied you from walking over us. We had eleven heroic performances which almost brought to an end 35 years of hurt until a moment of incompetence from a referee. Maybe.the reason is because there is.no.Mata alongside him... I would love to see oscar or De bryne in CM and Hazard Mata Willian... Lampard is just awful, ivanovic is pretty much uselus when it comes to crossing... Mou is just a pure counter-attacking coach.I said this as well prior to the Mourinho hiring....RM was a product of individual brilliance and RM being superior than anyone not named Barca...However, even with RDM and Rafa, I dont think we ever had a system of offensive play.... Second, I am absolutely done with Iva at right back. He offers little to nothing, in an attacking sense, from that position. It has gotten to the point that the opposition allows him all sorts of space due to his impotence. Dave, as he has shown, can make that position his own. Fuck him & his rotation policy.What exactly did Oscar play today ? Where was Schurrle ? One thing, I do not get. The team played dick in the 1st half. I saw the real Chelsea for the last 20 minutes or so. Why can´t they play like that for 60 minutes ?Today, the ref helped them. Meanwhile, Jose made excuses, as I read afterwards. Screw that.
