nadavTKL 1,787
I have read that article too: "We spoke to each other briefly and...OK, let's just say we spoke," he told The Sun." I just can't belive anything from Sun. Yes, he is heavily linked with Bayern, but I think Dortmund really don't want to let him go to Bayern, It'd worth a try.It was well documented that he only wants Bayern. I belive Dortmund would have sell him in the beginning of the summer if he wanted to go somwhere else. You are suggesting teams havent tried him the all summer? And now also Dortmund will reject any deal because the season started and they wont find a replacment.I think he even sigend a new contract (only pay raise, not more years), and said he will stay and leave only next season. I really like him,
Sidzeret 2,257
Wait... we're getting Eto'o for 2 million? Why are people against this exactly? The problem is to persuade him to take a quadruple whammy on his wages
The Skipper 20,609
Eto'o for £2m is a bargain depending if his wages will be alright. I like this but I think we're still waiting to see if Rooney will come before we make this deal official.
The only place to be 11,313
There are so many exciting things happening at this club, and Eto'o's signing would not be one of them by any stretch of the imagination but they don't all have to be.He'll provide a short-term option in a position where we need more of them and by next summer he'll bugger off and we'll have either Lukaku or Rooney as that main guy in all likelihood. Reminds me a lot of the Weah signing of a few years ago. Nothing spectacular but sort of served a purpose for a while and that was about it. Pizy 18,918
So surely one of our striker will be sold if Eto'o is brought in? I still think we should offer Ba + cash for Suarez. Maybe it'll be easier for Liverpool to part with him after seeing that they can win without him and that Sturridge can indeed lead their line. Ba would give them a different type of striker and they get rid of an unhappy player. Win for both sides.

Leif 6,006
It's hard to judge how good he still is considering he's been playing with mostly dogshit players in a dogshit stadium for the past few seasons. He still has most of his pace (Acc and Top Speed; Agility has gone down) and his finishing is pretty much the same as his Inter days. He just doesn't break offside lines as often like he used to. He drops a lot deeper now, typically being deployed in a position behind the striker to start with. (With Lacina Traoré in your team you have to make some room for him.)The Eto'o of old would have worked wonders in our more conservative systems where we wanted 1-0 and 2-0 results. The new, slightly changed Eto'o is built for this current set up of ours since his link up play has improved tenfold since most posters probably saw him. The only thing which concerns me is if he can maintain his fitness in the Premier League. Russia to England will be a culture shock for him on the field. Cech's helmet 220
I really really really don't want Eto'o here. it's definitely going to rustle my jimmies when a 30 something year old Eto'o playing in our team when Lukaku is on the bench. if we're going to sign a striker, let's sign a world class striker. not just some player who's going to retire any year now. if we really sign him, then Torres and BA must be really sh#t in Mou's eyes.
