Wow - why so angry and bitter at every player?

we knew the season was fucked very early on - this cannot be a surprise?

And if anybody is due some slack it's this guy - who hasn't stopped all season

the remaining games mean fuck all - major tournament coming up, why risk anything? I know footballers are portrayed as stupid - but this lad has brains. I would do exactly the same thing. :)

chill and prepare for next season :)

Neymar reached an agreement with Brazil board where he'll participate in Rio but not at the Copa. Not sure how inclined they will be to do the same with Chelsea..

Iiirc, clubs have to release players for Copa as it's a FIFA tournament, but have no such obligations for the Olympics.

Neither tournament is necessarily major (Centenario is just a way to make some extra money and the Olympics is essentially an Under 21 comp). I guess the fact the latter is in Brazil and they are yet to win it adds some importance, but he's been on a decline since Mou left IMO.Not sure what's gone on since then.

I think everyone is giving him a pass to an extent, but there is a question to be answered.

I did try to edit it to say - major for him. But it went wrong so didn't bother.

Representing your country at any Touranment is major to a player.

By the time Mou left the season was already gone.

This has clearly been his best season at Chelsea.

Wow every player angry&bitter were u get that dude? Fair enough Willian has been best player but for £30 mill you would expect that sort of mmm level tho imho he needs even more improvement with corners, set pieces, shooting, and i get all the games mean feck all,so why play him give the chance to somebody who WILL GIVE A FUCK,good experience for some other player of sorts!

Apologies - my time is limited on the forums, so maybe I have been unlucky and only seen your posts when you were annoyed :(

I think you need to decouple Price vs Quality - not all highly priced players are good and not all lower priced players are shit - the cost of the player depends on many factors. In this specific case, Willian was a Spuds target, they had agreed a price and a deal and we swooped in and gazumped them at the last minute. I would have rated Willian as a £20 million player, but in order to secure him, we had to pay more than his market value. Therefore, IMHO it's unfair to level a 'he cost X he should deliver Y' allegation at him, as he has no control over the final sale price (which is true of many players, except maybe Bosman players)

To address your other point - why is Willian playing (I agree with you here, wholeheartedly) - but Willian again has no control? The manager picks the team, if Willian refused to play - what kind of message is that? As fans we would be up in arms!

So in summary - whilst you can be frustrated about the situation - I don't think you can blame Willian directly, as he has little influence in either factor?

I do hope the kids get more of a chance now though :)

We still had the CL and FA Cup to play for. He has had a good half to the season. Let's hope him and the rest of the squad last the course next season

Shouldn't even be considered to be sold on.

When is the best time to sell a player?
I remember the same being said about Oscar two seasons ago.

Now almost everyone wants to sell.

Sometimes you have to sell when the value is the highest and you can get a good replacement.

In my opinion we have two absolute "unsellables" in our team at the moment: Hazard & Willian

The only two players in our squad that offer skill sets so unique that we can't simply go out and replace. Willian is far too valuable to sell. He should be brilliant under Conte. The perfect hard working player he likes.

Who would u replace willian with if he was to be sold mate ??

Let's see we get 50 million.

We can easily use that money and put some extra in getting a player like Bale...if Bale was available.

I'm not a scout, what winger can you get for 50 million or even a little more?

Edit: What about using the 50 million and trying to get Griezman?
