Badboy 1,526
Ok so you have forgotten that Mark hughes played for us for 3 years between 1995 and 1998? He's only managed Blackburn in club football, Everyone starts off with a mid table kind of team then work their way up. Since sparky went to Blackburn, he's done a great job. He's only been a manager in the premiership since 2004. Apparently Sven is gonna manage Mexico... [/quote I really dont think mark hughes is the type of coach roman wants. Byatt 0
Sparky would be the one i'd want off the list, he's an ex-Chelsea favourite which will obviously go down well with the majority of the fans, he knows the Premier League and he knows Chelsea... i think he has the credentials to do the job
Laylabelle 9,539
According to the Sun we're getting Jose...despite the fact what he said yesterday they know best And good for Sven!!Quicker he signs up there less worry we have.Apprantly they might get Grant lol. BlueLion. 21,491
Lippi or Mark Hughes.
HeRo 0
I was thinking about Lippi with Zola and Clark Lippi is proven winner who can manage all stars, Zola for future with Clarke... btw for me Clarke should have been given a chance before Grant. EskWeston 696
It all comes down to WHAT the club are looking for in a manager really. We have been told all season long that Attacking football is the main thing along with success..... I can't see Hughes being the right man for the job at all, just doesn't fit the mould of what we are aparently looking for. Like i have said i would be extremely suprised if the club do not have their man already. And i would also not be suprised if we had an announcement very very soon. Which would be good for all involved, the club, the players and the new man so things can get moving for next season.

Lippi isn't pro attractive football either.. leaves just ruijkaard..

Lippi isn't pro attractive football either.. leaves just ruijkaard.. Well time will tell. Rijkaard is still my tip, for me too many things point at him being the appointment and that it has been long planned. No matter what now we are on the brink of a new era, and getting this appointment right is the absolute key to how it will go..
Badboy 1,526
Rijkaard is the best option he is a best attacking coach out there dos santos will come as well i feel.
EskWeston 696
I agree Rijkaard is the best option! There are so many things pointing to it being him, and i hope it gets announced very soon.
Ollie 4,400
Looks like Deschamps is a very big candidate. Its on setanta news, he has said that hes on the shortlist and it would be very difficult to turn it down. I reckon he'll be the one to get it actually. He was linked after Jose departed and is linked again. Hes an ex blue and he wants the job! http://www.setantasports.com/en/Sport/News...space/football/ Edited May 27, 2008 by OllieCFC
EskWeston 696
Would be interesting to know how he knos he is on a shortlist? I have no idea of what his managerial style is so it is hard for me to comment on him to be honest, would be unsure what to expect if he was appointed. Ollie 4,400
Well he took manaco to the UCL final at our expense. Hes managed Juventus too so he cant be that bad. Its just good to see that he wants the job. At least we can pretty much say that we're gonna get someone well known and who actually has some kind of experience. EskWeston 696
Well at the moment from everything that has been said we have managed to rule out Jose, Hiddink and Mancini. Any one else is a possibility. Make no mistake this is a job that all top managers will want unless they are secure in a job already. A top manager is an absolute must for us. mastiffchild 1
I worry about Rijkaard. He looked like a broken man recently both at OT and the Bernabeu-and I'm not sure he's strict enough with the biggest players/ego's. I'd much rather go for Scolari with someone like Franco joining the staff to be groomed for the role in future to avoid any "Grant" situations again. Sparky-loads to prove. Sven-LMAO.Lippi-won't come anyway. Deschamps-not capable and hated his time with us, couldn't get away quick enough. Hiddink and Mancini-could both remain tied to contracts they want to see out. God knows what Jose's gonna do IF Mancini stays at Inter as there don't look to be any really big jobs going elsewhere-and he see international management as retirement football. Ollie 4,400
Grant has managed Chelsea so he can't be that bad. But only as a caretaker quite obviously.
riks12 3
Damn why does Roman make us wait so long. I want the new manager to be announced ASAP, can't wait any longer lol. I think Hiddink would be the best, but he ain't leaving Russia, which sucks. Also I saw some rumours about Ancelotti, but don't remember where. :S
Elliott 7
I'd rather we waited a couple of weeks than have the situation we had last time where an appointment was made immediately.
