I would've guessed the star would be permanent. Judging by Roman's speech after Saturday (well what was reported anyway). He was always passionate about European success anyway, and having us recognised as one of the elite clubs in football. Now we have a reminder of how far this club has come

Because when you select it , it doesnt charge you for shirt printing ..........They probally will fix this later though so you can buy it for cheaper without shirt printing.

Fucking annoyed mine doesn't have a star. Going to have to buy another top now. Although the prices on the megastore are fucking ridiculous & doesn't look like you'll be able to buy them anywhere else.

If I had to guess, gold star is only on kits when we play in Champions League. From the store online, they are selling two different sets of 12/13 kits

Kit 1 - Title 12/13 UCL Home Soccer Jersey - includes the star - http://www.chelseame...cer-jersey.html

Kit 2 - Title 12/13 Home Soccer Jersey - no star - http://www.chelseame...cer-jersey.html

So based on the fact they are selling them separately and the one with the star states its the UCL Home kit, I would guess the star is only for Champ League matches.
