Gareth Bale is....

Chelsea?

in Paulo Ferreira's pocket still?

going to cut in from the left and shoot?

He's fantastic at exploiting weaknesses and mistakes in the opposition, if they stand off of him and give him space or simply capitalising on the naivety of full-backs but I'm not too sure he'll have another season like he did last season if he sticks around at Spurs. I'm not going to call him one-dimensional because he isn't, but I think teams can nullify him. It's doing that for 90 minutes that is going to be the challenge and he's shown a propensity to pop up late in games and take advantage of teams tiring.

Comparisons to Hazard are inevitable but that Spurs team is built around him, whereas we tended to build around Mata last season. Personally I think Hazard is going to explode this season and get into twenty goals at least because I think he'll back his talents a bit more.

It's completely not biased to say Hazard has more potential. Spurs fans would think it is but look at the facts. Bale as Spike said, is not a World class 'Footballer' but still a great player due to his Pace, Power and Tremendous shooting/finishing. Hazard IS a fantastic footballer with Messi-eque dribbling at times, also blessed with lightning speed, agility, superhuman/insane Balance and wonderful vision.

Now when he adds that finishing aspect to his game he'd be the complete package, which is why I say he could be the perfect Hybrid of Ronaldo and Messi whereas I don't think Bale will ever improve the Footballing side of his game because he simply...can't. He strays more towards the Ronaldo pathway.

Hazard already has the shooting ability. It's not like he'd have to come up with this ability from nowhere. We've seen he can be a very good finisher when he tries for goals; he's scored some crackers. So all in all, Bale tremendous but Hazard will be something even more than tremendous. He'll be terrifying.

We don't agree often, but this time around I fully agree with you.

And I watched Bale and still think even last season he wasn't as good as Hazard, dont know how ppl come to this conclusion.

Hazard has vision, low center of gravity, speed like a bullet, quick feet, sublime technique and whats more important a very very wonderfully developed footballers brain, like Lamps, or Xavi have or did have respectively what ever you think of them is up to you, so I will leave both options open to decide.

Bale is Fast and can shoot, that basically sums it up, I don't think he has that technique and that flair around him, I would buy him, yes but I would have loved Jesus Navas over here more... City buys every player I like, whats this, do they read my posts?

So Bale has had a fantastic season, no doubt about that but a) I don't know if he can keep this up and B) if he could keep this level, h would decline by the age of 27 me thinks...

I don't agree that you can compare him and Ronaldo, Ronaldy is clearly the PERFECT combination of every attribute a player needs, besides his mentality and his selfishness, so Bale is quick and can shoot but I can see where you come from by stateing he is more the Ronaldo path, but this would be unfair to Ronaldy imho... it may be the same path but not on the same level...

is a Welsh footballer who plays for English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and the Wales national team as a winger.

Bale began his professional career at Southampton, playing at left back, earning acclaim as a free kick specialist. Since transferring to Spurs in 2007, managerial and tactical shifts have seen him transform into a more offensively-oriented player. Since the 2009–10 season, Bale has played an integral role in Tottenham's success domestically and in the Champions League.

Bale has received plaudits from a number of managers such as José Mourinho, and from fellow players who have described him as a footballer with "tremendous speed, great crossing ability, a great left foot and exceptional physical qualities". During the 2012–13 season he was awarded the PFA Young Player of the Year, the PFA Players' Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year awards.

Oh don't get me wrong, I was only using the Bale and Ronaldo comparison as a rough indicator. Ronaldo is a very good footballer as well and head and shoulders better than Bale right now, in fact all players other than Messi.

If Bale can keep these performances up or even, somehow improve it, I would be very impressed and he would certainly be the real deal. Madrid would come ready to barge down the door to take Bale so it's a pick your poison type of thing for Spurs. He can either fail next season or have another great one meaning he will definitely leave.

It's such an absolute shame he plays for Twattenham because he would have been a great Mourinho type winger. Only problem is he excels when given a free role, which I don't know he would be afforded here given we have the 3 Amigos already. Mourinho usually gives only one player a completely free role and that will almost certainly be Mata.

The most overrated player in history.

Has 2 traits that are world class: pace and a great long shot.

Many times this season he'd be completely invisible for an entire match and in the last few minutes the opposing team would allow him space to get a shot off from outside the box or give up an idiotic free kick.

Doesn't provide enough other than goals to justify near what people are suggesting.

Was the 3rd best player this season after RvP and Mata.

Yes, but for someone who's touted as a potential all time transfer record signing you'd expect him to be a global superstar who would sell millions of shirts worldwide, score unbelievable amounts of goals, and makes the players around him better.

This was Bale's best ever season and his stats were worse than Theo Walcott. And the only reason he scored as many as he did was because there wasn't anyone else in his side to score them.

If you're paying Ronaldo money or even more, I'd expect to have a player who is unstoppable and transcends the game.

In our games with them this season he was largely invisible.

I agree that he isn't worth like 80m or anything like that.. thats just crazy.

But he is worth the 50m in my opinion.

...A lad from Wales, few say he's up there with the best, others say he only has a couple of things to his game, I am sure once (and only if) he moves from Spurs, we'll see either the explosive up there with the best Welsh number 11, or just a 2-3 dimensional player that failed to prove himself in a much bigger side.
