Demba Ba

Interesting...

Are Lukaku's two seasons on loan better than Ba's two seasons with Newcastle? The numbers are quite similar, and one player is being described as not good enough while the other is supposed to be our future.

Because one is in the prime of his career while one just turned 21. And Ba is clearly not good enough.

Somewhat agree but there's the slight difference of Lukaku being 19-21 when he had those seasons and Ba being 25-27. One can still improve massively while the other is enjoying his peak years now and was not good enough.

Anyway, Lukaku with Demba's attitude would be fucking amazing. Too bad we can't make a hybrid of these two players.

I believe Lukaku is as good as he'll ever be now. His technique won't improve beyond what it is in my opinion. He just got dropped for a 19 year old in the World Cup because he couldn't control the ball consistently. I can safely say Lukaku is not good enough now and will never be for what we require.

You are entitled to your opinion but I must say that is ridiculous.

The kid hasn't even learned how to use his body yet. He's still figuring out the game mainly because he was fast tracked at every level because he was so huge. In a few years the game will slow down for him and he could be a beast, if his head gets right.

BANG......and there is that brick wall, plus Jose having to deal with him and his agent, can you imagine how fucking difficult that must be? One bloke who thinks he is better than Suarez and can't shut his mouth, and the other just seeing pound signs rolling around in his eyes and head like a fucking fruit machine spinning.

Jose will manage the situation quite easily, he will tell Lukaku to shut the door behind himself on the way out.

if that happens, then i will simply name it as a mistake!!! saf sold pogba, won the league and yet it is named as his biggest mistake, blunder if you will.

we are in a similar predicament if not worse. if we sell lukaku, then we have a floppes and a costa who is yet to play a game for us (yet to be signed). he can be brilliant like DD, or average like anelka or a dud like sheva. 1/2/3 seasons down the road, we might find ourselves looking for another 50/60mil striker while having sold lukaku for 20mil and sturridge for 12mil.

like i said before, i feel selling ba means we are keeping lukaku.

so a 21 year old getting dropped for a 19 year old means he simply wont get better than he currently is?

No, it doesn't. I'm saying Lukaku got dropped for a relatively unknown 19 year old (who has scored 7 goals in his entire club career) because he couldn't control the ball. Doesn't exactly bode well for a future at an elite European club does it?

how did rooney play in the 2010 WC? did that define his club career? klose is the most successful WC player and yet never had a good club career.

lukaku was poor in those 2 games and then brilliant in the 3rd one. match winner if u will. his main role for us this season would be coming up against tired and battered defenders and i think he can do a good job at that!! also the world cup stage comes with some heavily added pressure. some of the greats have flopped in world cups. hazard was a flop too. does not mean we should be saying "thats it. he is done!!!" simply not fair to lukaku.

A squad is incomplete without guys like Demba who wait for their chance and perform when called upon. Kudos to him for remaining thoroughly professional throughout his stay. I wonder who'll perform this role next season. Dearly hoped Eto'o would stick around.

I seriously, seriously hope you will be made to eat your words. Despite his flaws I seriously reckon he will be unstoppable in a few years and reckon his sheer pace and power will help him. I reckon people are being quite oblivious if they think he won't improve. He is 21 and training every day. With time he will work on his flaws whilst improving on his strengths. I can almost guarantee that he will be scoring goals galore in a few years. He is really going to prove people wrong.

This.

Even though he's raw, right now, he will improve. He trains hard and improvements will come. Also, he's very strong physically. Whether that's with Chelsea or someone else, is a whole other matter entirely.
