Fernando Torres

Technically yes, but seriously.. he knew nothing about it lol. It's desperate to use it as a measure for his efficiency. I think only calculated assists should be used as an argument to a player's overall performance.

Correct, but that's how these things are considered.

I would rather point towards his movement for the second goal (the first for Ivanovic), his run took away a defender and opened up space for Ivan to exploit. Not an assist technically but a better indicator of his contribution.

Sloth, for all his past achievements, goal records and ability, unfortunately sport by it's very nature is not a game of absolutes. And so my point still stands, anybody else makes that shot, the world goes, "oh, poor effort" and then forgets about it. Because it happens to the very worst, right up to the very best. However, because this is Torres, the harsh criticism gets milked for all it's worth, and then, despite the fact that he creates two assists and scores a goal, people still find the time to moan even though our teams problems are greater than him.

Fuck off mate, for a 50 million pound striker, and his achievements past experience, the striker of his calibur, he takes a shot like that, no excuse like i said. Making up excuses like that you should sign up to RAWK.

Sloth, no disrespect, but this is now getting boring. We all know that FT has been shyt, and has only scored lucky goals, and wasted a thousand chances. Even my daughter knows it. But why should I be reading the same thing in every thread on this forum. I know you are free to express yourself, but seriously...... lets just wait and see what he can do for the club.

Are you taking the piss?, are you squeezing my tits?, this is unbelievable...

Torres should of scored in that situation, i don't care what you say, and should of had a better effort, i'm saying theres no excuse for that. You can't just keep making up excuses, like Liverpool are with Andy Carroll and there full team etc, he should of scored and you people are making up excuses and all this

UNBELIEVABLE JEFF!

No because you're making a big deal out of nothing, he had a one on one chance and he missed, is he the only striker to have ever missed one?

RVP who scores every freaking week missed one against Milan, no need to go on and on about it. Especially since he made up for it later in the game.

I'm not making a big deal out of it, i blatently said that there was no excuses for his first miss, but people seem to think there is, all this too much pressure, and that malarky, if that's the case then there's an excuse for everything and no one does wrong.

Yeah, maybe Torres should have scored but why would you go on and on about that chance, especially considering he scored another late on and had 2 assists that game. Seems weird, there were more positives than negatives in that game and yet you choose to focus on the negative.

Everyone misses chances, doesn't make sense to throw the guy under the bus if he missed one that game. Especially considering he redeemed himself after.

Your right,he should have scored but he didn't and then there have been times where his finishing has been great.Remember the goal against United? That surely was pure class. We all know that he wasn't great and yet we still support him and acknowledge him for the 'small' things he does on the field because we know that he is working hard and trying his best to score.

He was simply brilliant at Liverpool and we all wish for him to rediscover that kind of form so that our club Chelsea will go on to achieve greatness. It will be hard for him to rediscover that kind of form but if supporting him helps in achieving that then we should by all means support him.He did a brave thing by leaving Liverpool for us and for 50m,you would have expected to do better when he had joined but sadly he didn't.Now,I can see a glimpse of that old Torres and I urge you, from one fan to another,to support this guy because afterall we support the same club.

And please don't reply saying I support Torres FC and that you support Chelsea FC,I am tired of that shit.

I aint making a big deal of it, i'm just saying there was no excuse at all, i thought he had a bad game, but statistically speaking he never, but it's usually the other way round.

However i thought the first chance no excuses, the others well they were incredible blocks he does have excuses felt sorry for him there. But as i said first one no excuses, that is all.

He will never be the same player he was at liverpool, but he doesn't have to be.

I've seen him more suited for a different role, he may be shit infront of goal, but you can't take away his flair and his other technical skills, he is brilliant when he has space and is behind a back 4 with a lot of friendly movement, that's where he causes trouble. He's just shit infront of goal, i think we can adapt him to working with another forward.

And by the way good post, thank you for being normal and not over reacting like everyone else, people thinking i'm an illuminati devil worshiping undercover torres hater.

@kyle and magic weeds: Sloth can express his opinion as much as he wants as kyle already said above. If you don't agree with him - try to point out your arguments or just ignore him.

@Sloth: You can post as much as you want unless it's SPAM. Just don't insult other members and everything will be allright.

Have a nice evening! :chai:

Why's that?, i would love him to score, but it's true he is shit infront of goal, but he's still a good player, and if he puts in good performances in, then heck we shouldn't kick him out of the team.
