That's 2 more euros and 1 more world cup than Messi.

One thing we can never take away from Torres, is how good he was at his peak, its a shame his career was runined by tht knee injury he had before the world cup otherwise he was up there with the messi and ronaldo, I used to despise him for tht when he was still at liverpool

Yep just shows how lucky he is despite not even 2% as good. What is there to feel sorry for?

It just shows how biased u are, torres at his peak was at par with the messi's of the world, he was probably the best striker in the world before that injury he had in 2009, one thing we can never take away from torres even thgh his terrible now is tht he was really good in 2008 he was only beaten to the Ballorn Dor because Ronaldo won the champ league, but any rational fan could see his talent, thts why we hated the dude whilst he was still at liverpool, and that is why we didnt hesitate to pay 50 million for him because he was that good.

Don't have to make up stuff, no one was beating Ronaldo that year. Even if he didn't win the CL he was still the best in the world.

Torres finished 3rd in the Ballon d'Or behind Messi and Ronaldo that year, so it wasn't as close as you're making it to be, and Messi was not as good, similarly with Ronaldo, as he is right now.

He was definitely the best striker in the world back then but Torres at his peak was not as special as Messi or Ronaldo are right now. Those two are being talked of as being the best players ever, peak Fernando Torres is not up for that discussion sorry.

Its really a shame about the niggling injuries, that seem to be defusing any sort of momentum he built up from early in the season..

We will really require his services for the upcoming matches...Mourinho himself has said after the Spurs match that he prefers Torres over Eto'o for away games..

No club, in their right mind, would pay for a Torres transfer. It doesn't make any sense from a business point of view. He is not worth any value in transfer funds when he can be taken for free after the expiry of his contract. He will not add anything to a team that has enough money to complete the transfer, he's just not good enough. That aside, he will not leave because he is contracted to earn a staggering salary if he rides out his contract. He lives a very good life right now and has no incentive to leave. Seems like the only thing we can do, as a club, is damage control and squeeze out what we can from him. I guess they could freeze him out, a la Anelka or Malouda. He does have decent moments I suppose. But his presence also means Lukaku can't get in. What is there to do...

Nah guys. Lukaku is going to take all of Torres' games worst case scenario. Mourinho is just building the foundations of the team, and the best thing for Lukaku was to play in the premier league. Mou didn't want to take the risk and sent him somewhere he could get games. Mourinho wanted Lukaku as a backup but it was Lukaku who pushed for a transfer, Mou saw that at least for Lukaku's sake it was very positive.
