Fernando 6,585
I think jose will use DD as a super sub ahead of torres. Simply cos DD is better in IMPACTING a game with his presence. Last season torres was our first striker for the first half of the season. This season 7 out 10 games, costa will start with DD coming off the bench. His playing time will be MASSIVELY reduced even if he is chosen to start ahead of DD in carling cups.As a super sub. So what about capital one, fa cup, when a striker gets a red card. And truly I'm I the only that feels like Costa might get a red card here and there? Hence Torres is the second men till DD gets into rhythm. And that might take a couple of months. The Skipper 20,609
DD not getting ahead of Torres for a while. He needs to regain match fitness. Took a lot for Eto'o and he was a bit younger. So as it stands he's our second striker....Eto'o didn't even have a pre season though. At least Drogba is having one. We signed Eto'o in the last few days of August too whilst DD's been here since July. He's definitely in a better position than Samuel. Does not that start in jan??? If DD can't regain his fitness till jan then torrid deserves to be the 2nd striker. Also even if DD takes a couple of months to get back into rythm, it would mean he would be ready by september mid or end. DD joined us inmid july while etoo joined us on the deadline day. Dd will already have trained with us for 1 and a half months before the window closes. So I really don't see torres being the undisputed no.2 here. Azpinator 2,325
And Panved good at?Mourinho's Inter managed to win the treble with a sub striker like Pandev. That's all I meant. But again Balotelli, Milito and Eto'o were there. *sigh* If you count Schurrle as a striker, Costa - Schurrle - Drogba could be similar. Magic Lamps 11,692
The shit is, when we have to use Costa all the time, he will be too tired for the end of the season and the big games, picking up injuries every time like he did last season. I can't stress enough the importance of us getting rid of Torres and/or getting another (homegrown) striker.
Henrique 9,133
Jose already said that we will have 3 strikers. I doubt he will leave until we bring another striker.Probably Diego Milito. Svita 10
Parky 739
Jose should sit him down and say 'Are you happy to play for the reserves for 2 years? Well than we have had offers from these clubs. You can go and play first team or play with the reserves for 2 years".This is how Fergie got rid of players like Jaap Stam and Van Nistelrooy
Iainrfc04 39
No chance he'd take a pay cut to leave. If he actually had an ambition of trying to get any sort of form back he'd have tried/asked to leave a while ago

didierforever 7,349
i dont see torres as a money grabbing person.if jose tells torres that he will be 3rd striker and have no playtime, i can see him take a pay cut (specially if the team is ATM) to get a good enough role. wolfsburg i am not so sure, but lets hope for the best.
