Stats 7,142
Absolutely...can't believe some posters believe Eto'o is a better player. You are completely missing the point. It is not the fact that Torres is a better player. Alex is stating Torres should start based on his last game. You stating that Torres is a better player is completely off the point. Have you actually watched Torres at Chelsea or are you consistently watching Liverpool DVDs where he was scoring goals. Why can't you believe that people think Eto'o is a better player? He might have had a slow start but did you see how long Torres took to get his first goal here and how really torrid is time has been here?LOL, you are acting as if Alex stated Torres is better than Eto'o. He did not. He is saying he should start because of his last game compared to Ba's and Eto'o. That does not mean he is better but yes if it is based on Torres last game maybe he does deserve a start tomorrow. The Skipper

Stats 7,142
I simply can't understand why Eto'o is rated so higher than Torres.Because if you judge Torres at his time here he has scored some goals but overall he has been poor and a poor investment. I was not all thumbs up for getting Eto'o but he has scored everywhere he has gone, has 3 CL titles to his name plus numerous amount of other things he has won with different teams. Just remains to see if he can replicate the same form at us. I would like Torres to start tomorrow as well but how why do you believe Torres is much better or better than Eto'o? Sovieticus 743
Don't forget Eto'o didn't have so many chances to score like Torres.

He is MUCH FASTER and finishing is just as good.
Las7 951
Just look at the trophies Eto'o won at club level as an integral part of the team and look at Torres and what he managed to win with Madrid and Liverpool. The only club trophy I can say Torres was integral at winning at club level is the Europa CupMallorcaCopa del Rey (1): 2003BarcelonaLa Liga (3): 2004–05, 2005–06, 2008–09Copa del Rey (1): 2009UEFA Champions League (2): 2005–06, 2008–09Inter MilanSerie A (1): 2009–10Coppa Italia (2): 2010, 2011UEFA Champions League (1): 2009–10FIFA Club World Cup (1): 2010It's not even close, over the last decade Eto'o has been one of the best strikers in Europe, Torres had two great seasons at Liverpool and that's it. Torres is overrated, the way he failed here at 27 when he was supposed to be at his peak proves this. He will be remembered on the same level as Owen, a great striker that failed after injuries and moving clubs his next club will be similar of stature to Newcastle The Skipper
Chelsea75 3
As I am watching the game right now I can only wonder why Toores and Mata are not even in the game. Torres needs to play as well as mata to be effective. I think this is a joke the way the team is being used.

Kish9 50
I believe he played pretty well the time he was on, raised the tempo of the game after he came on, deffo needs to start against spurs
Blue Armour 4,439
He actually looked niceYeah, he's doing a lot better under Jose...and of course after 2 seasons here, he has adapted to the way Chelsea play. Not the ultimate solution for our striker problems, but a good one for the time being. Especially on counter-attacks
ChelseasMessiah 304
He showed some acceleration today, I liked what I saw.You never know it with Torres in a Chelsea shirt but I think he earned a start in our next match. Well done Fernando.
Kinol 337
I dont want to take anything away from him but he came on during a time in the game where lots of spaces started to open in Fulhams defence and it became easier for us to play. As I said in the post match thread, from the 80th minute (possibly 70th in actual fact) it was more open for the team to play a quicker style of football that allowed Torres to look that sharp. Had Eto'o been on during that, you'd have got the same kind of display. Has Eto'o had a chance to showcase his talent? Not yet, because of the dire nature of today's game. Has Torres earned a start in our next game? Considering it's v. Swindon, perhaps there is a case for that. In any case, I hope people aren't fooled into thinking Torres can lead the line for us just because Eto'o is yet to deliver. Tomo

Its quite clear, Eto'o is much better against certain types of opposition especially the kind that defend deep. Its good that we finally have some variety in terms of striker options.
