francozola 2,040
Well hopefully it will spur him on to prove people wrong but we've all been saying that for 12 months now and it hasn't worked
Krypt 241
Just read this on football365.com a comment regarding Torres not making the spain sqaud -"What's gone wrong?" Interesting theory for you. Seriously, this is not a joke. Fellow red and Haitian friend of mine who now lives in West Indies (big support for Liverpool that way, a John Barnes thing apparently, him being Jamaican an' all) has it on good authority that a local Voodoo witch doctor is obsessed with all things Liverpool. Allegedly he had hexed Shevchenko before CL final (unfortunately not Crespo), subsequently Sheva's career was virtually ruined after that game, see the mystery save from Dudek off his elbow and terrible chip penalty in the shootout. Then disaster and obscurity at Chelsea. He reckons the same type of hex was placed on Torres when he requested a transfer to force Liverpool to sell him. Now Torres is the biggest flop in world football. I laughed when he told me this, but every time I see him play I can't help but think, what if? Best mind f**k yet. francozola 2,040
He's sick That's not why he was dropped. He really was dropped. He's sick but he's still in contention to play a part tomorrow so it wasn't serious.
Popular Post! Badboy 1,526 Posted February 24, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted February 24, 2012 If Torres goes the rest of the season without scoring a goal I think he should voluntarily terminate his contract. He's gone 1298 mins on the pitch without a goal, in fact he has watched players like Ramires, Sturridge and Mata create and finish their own chances time and time again. I can already see that Mata has given up on him, when Mata first arrived he was trying to put everything on a plate for Torres but now he's just took a leaf from Sturridge's book and he's bypassing Torres. Tomo 21,751
What possesed us to pay 180k a week in the first place, he was only on 80k at the Scousers, surely a basic payrise would have been suited or if he really was "ambitious" he would have just accepted the same wage. What on earth possessed us to offer that much? Badboy 1,526
I think it was just the fact that the club just wanted to offer him a contract he would not turn down because they didn't have much time to conclude it. Torres actually took a pay cut to join Liverpool which is another kick in the teeth, Chelsea football club has to be run as a business and not a toy. We have spent 80 million pounds on 2 strikers ( Sheva/Torres) in recent years and those 2 transfers have dented our financial aspirations. Tomo 21,751
Worst thing is that apart from this deal we have been clever with transfer's and wages in recent season's.Ramires is on something like 60k a week, Luiz is on something similar and we managed to haggle down the transfer price for him, Romeu is on 20k, Mata is on 55k, Meireles is on something similar also. Cahill is on 80k which isn't that much for our recent standards, So we blow our recent wage (and transfer) reduction's out of the water with this deal.We should pull on Leti's heartstrings and offer £20m plus Torres and an extended Courtious loan for Falcao. As for the £50m, lets pretend we spent £73m on Mata. Tomo 21,751
Plus Ivanovic and Sturridge are on 60k and less too.Yeah forgot about those 2.However with Sturridge's new contract situation he's bound to go up to the 90-100k barrier if he stays at-all

More money to spend on people who can score a goal.if roman didn't procrastinate so damn much and face the weaknesses in the squad years ago we wouldn't have had to sign him, but people go on about the price... there was no alternative at the time..glad we are all in agreement tho

magicrico 175
I have never seen a player get as much playing time for being as poor as Torres. Get Lukaku on. ANY other teams top striker would be a better option. Chico,Balotelli,Odemwingie,Defoe,Sessigon,Holt,Demsey, Andy Johnson,Zamora, just to name a brief few who ARE better players than Torres this season. I'm not even mentioning tops strikers like Rooney,Aguero etc cause Torres isn't even in the same league.Talking of leagues, He prob needs a loan at a lower one. Alan Shearer said it right on motd. No desire. Our striker is scared of getting in there because he knows he'll miss a chance.
