Fucking greedy cunts, everything for that money. And players will have no vacation either and must get ready for the new season shortly after. Not that I care whether they have vaction or not, im solely talking about freshness and stamina for the coming season.

Vacation? What vacation?

Most of the leagues will only begin their new season in mid-September. So unless that club go all the way to the final, teams participating in Europe will have at least 3-4 weeks off before the new season. Not ideal perhaps but we're living in a shit year and shit times, so everyone has gotta be flexible.

What I am curious about is, at least in England, whether they will cancel the League Cup or teams in Europe will not play in it. Because there doesn't seem to be any space to fit those fixtures in after taking the league and European fixtures into account next season.

Good points.....freshness could well become an issue though. Yup the fixture list will become a clusterfuck if they dont cancel.

Upto 2003 the CL had four extra games to it's schedule so i'm sure the'll be someway of fixing it.

I have not looked and compared the fixtures back then and now but I'd wager that the football calendar these days is a lot more hectic or a lot worse than back then. Even in a normal season, a team can be playing every 3-4 days once the season really gets going and the team go far in every competition. Players can barely catch a breather and when you add in international fixtures, it becomes even worse. Don't forget that the European Championship is taking place next year and if the new season is gonna start in mid-September, the season is gonna be really crammed since it will have to end by May. You will have the Premier League + Champions League/Europa League + League Cup + FA Cup + International matches to manage. There will likely be no mini winter-break next season because of this but even then, the workload/amount of fixtures is gonna be HELL!

I think they had one less international break which helped but back then if you (as a PL team) made it all the way in all comps that's 68 games as a base, if you add potential super cups, FA Cup replays and CWC's to the schedule you were looking at a maximum of 76 (no wonder United had to drop out of the FA Cup in 2000).

Yeah, that was in a normal season. Imagine next season...especially with games being a lot more intense etc than back then.

Obviously, just like any business. Don't see what the issue is.

So money has to control every facet of life is that your point? We cant just as humans take a step back and take the logical decision? Theres no reason to restart CL under these conditions and so late on top.

Money and the economy is ultimately what makes life on this earth sustainable. Football is running it's business, trying to recovering from this pandemic and to do their bit in getting the economy moving again the best way it can just like every other non essential business from the TV and drama industry right down to McDonald's yet none of them seem to get the same general shit for it.

Surely there comes a time where you reset no? Surely a situation or an incident will make us rethink a bit. No wonder theres so much greed and corruption in our world......money sadly rules everything. Imo CL should not have restarted, you wanna start the leagues fine but CL? In that setup?

Money has to rule everything, a reset is nice and romantic in theory but in reality will lead to extreme poverty.

The UK economy has shrunk 20% in a month, I imagine most other countries are in a similar predicament, the world right now is in no position to decide against setting up anything (that can be done as safely as possible) that contributes to the economy, it would be suicide, financially and in some cases literally.

We have to rule over money not vice versa but alas here we are.

Under what conditions, you don't even believe pandemic is real.

Whether I believe in it or not does not change the question. By condition I mean so late in the season, neutral grounds, 1 game knockouts etc......just cancel the Cl and start next season.
