How about you quit whining?

Why should he? He just made a fair observation..Mikel's work-rate hasn't been up to scratch recently.

If you want to tell people to stop whining, try telling that to people who complain about a defeat or a draw.

Mikel's been fine hardly the reason we haven't been performing well. you guys need to just take a step back and remember this is a new team still finding its way. Comparing it to last years team of teams of years past is both ridiculous and extremely premature.

Lol, we are going to have to get used to the idea of playing on Thursdays and Sundays now :( and that being said vital we finish top 4 as we don't have the Champions League to fall back on this time if we finish outside top 4

How about you suck The Mak's everlasting gob-dropper?

Because if you don't like people complaining, you should step away from the internet, nevermind this forum.

Clearly you're about as intelligent as a fucking gnat. I love the internet, I hate the fact that its overrun by whiny little kids who hide behind their computer screens and talk utter nonsense.

Mikel has been fine this year, more than Mikel actually

Won't be too bad so long as the kids get a run out... This could help us develop depth from within finally

Piazon, Marin, Cesar, Turnbull(or Blackman), Romeu, Sturridge... Wouldn't mind recalling Josh for this either

We finaly scored for fun. In EL, we will have a chance to play our younger players more, they should gain some experience from there. Also our new players (Mata, Hazard, Oscar,..) are now past heavy test that they failed this time, but will learn from it. We actualy had most goals scored in group stage, that isnt so bad. Consider we had better striker...

All in all, with 21yrs olds, a bad striker and both leaders (Terry, Lamps) injured, we couldnt change much.

I think we screwed the first match vs Juve when we were leading 2:0 and then only draw. Shakhtar away was tough game, even Barca plays bad there, Juve away was result of bad form from heavy schedule, Juves experience, our inexperience. We were lucky we won Shakhtar at home too.

Congrats to Juve and Shakhtar, I hope we learn something from this year. We were flying too high with all this champions of europe...We dont have Drogba anymore, Lamps is side player now and this team is still in transition, they are not champions yet.

Cheers people :)

Good post, I really hope our players can learn from this experience.

I personally don't really want us to wait for lampard and terry. It's time for our future star hazard, mata, oscar to step up and be our leader.

Praise him? "the sign".

People who think like you are the reason that blonde is still in our club, screwing us up.

and it's people like you who are the reason he is screwing us up. You do nothing to help his confidence by constantly bashing him.

Calm down, it was brilliant game by us, didn't take foot off the pedal although we were winning easily. We bowed out with class and it's not like we were humiliated in the group. Some of you don't understand how talented Donetsk's team is, and Juventus is Juventus, a force to reckon with. We blew it away with the Juventus game.

Our squad is too thin to compete on 4-5 fronts. We would have been knocked out in last 16 or last 8 in my eyes and for me, that hurts alot more. Let's get back on terms in the League, progress in FA Cup, play youth in Europa League and Capital One Cup, win the CWC. Only thing hurt here is our egos, club will cope without the financial benefits of progressing. Perhaps we won't make some signings in January we would have but that can also be positive because players in January are over the market value and it's harder for them to step into the team.

We played nice, MOTM for me Torres. Shout outs to Luiz, Ramires and Romeu. Well played lads.

I didn't see the game....Was having sex. Cause i thought that would be better.

Can someone give me a run down of how we played ( I take it well)

any good/great goals?

Players who stood out?

Did we play better because they were dogshit or because we look like we have improved?

Cheers

Bizarre atmosphere at the Bridge last night but a decent performance against a poor team. Ultimately I don't know if we learnt a huge amount about the players, but you have to give Rafa a bit of credit for a couple of things.

Firstly, he tried different things that a few people on here have been asking for. He moved Luiz into midfield which worked well in that match. I don't think he can play that DM role but he might be a half-decent Ramires replacement in some games. He gave Romeu a game which will be important come the time of the African nations, and he also moved Oscar into a deeper midfield role which a lot of people think will be his main position in the future.

Secondly, we saw a continuation of the midfield guys working harder to get back and also put pressure on the opposition defenders in the final third when they lost the ball. It all looked a lot more structured than it has done this season.

Finally, he gave Paulo a run-out. Its a small gesture but it's good that one of the best servants this club has had in the last few years got a game. It might not have been much but it's good to keep all the players involved and we all know that we have a small squad so we need as many bodies as possible.

Beyond that, we didn't learn much. We already knew Torres could score against poor opposition (QPR, Genk, Norwich.....Arsenal), we knew Luiz's laconic style worked well against poor opposition and I think we got a glimpse of what Hazard was like age 12 when he could bamboozle the other kids in the playground at will. Moses continues to impress and the signing of him seems remarkably astute.

But this group was lost with the draw at home to Juventus. He wasn't on the pitch today but a special mention has to go to Mikel who showed in that Juve match not just how important that position is but how unsuited he is to it. You can't fall asleep in that position and you can't give up. He did both in that game and we all know that competitions like this come down to 1 or 2 errors over the course of 6 games.
