  1. 1. Who do you think will be the next CFC manager?

Woow, Sky Sports confirmed that RDM has stated he and other members of staff expects him to lose his job after the loss to Juventus. I will be absolutely livid and confused if he is booted, would be quite ridiculous and shows we have no stability. SAF didnt get sacked when United went out the group stage or finished trophyless last season, but guess what United will always come back stronger. RDM has been doing well considering our options up front, maybe if we pursued a striker back in summer the situation would be different but please, I hope this is a lot of crap about him being sacked, totally stupid.

This is ridiculous. All anyone does on this site is blame Torres. Yeah, hes not that great, but not every loss is his fault, and Luiz's.

Torres isn't exactly missing sitters out there. Hes not getting chances. His fault, and RDM's. Our striker barely gets the ball. This was the case with his system last season when he took over, and even now with all the talent in the world.

Stop blaming Torres and Luiz and realize that this guy doesn't have a structure going forward. He just has a bunch of talent that has taken us to a somewhat reasonable result thus far in the league, and has clearly wore thin in the cup competition.

The rumors that Robbie may be gone are getting serious. Really CFC? REALLY?! Two bad weeks is all it takes to sack the Chelsea legend who won us the "holy grail" in the most difficult time for the club in years? Fickle. Very very fickle.

And the rumored replacements are Benitez and...Garnt?! Really CFC? Grant?! REALLY?! Are we trying to win trophies or get ourselves relegated? Garnt, the man who has never had any success with any club in Europe in his life. I think I'm going to be sick.

So sad from chelsea. I knew RDM was never a possesion football manager and now his players can't defend well in the counter attack system he likes.

Last season we had drogba up top to finish the chances from a counter, now we have no one to do that. It so unlucky for RDM that he couldn't change our system.

Don't really understand the need for sacking another manager right now. We're 3rd in the table - where we expected to be. We're likely to finish with 10 points in a very tough CL group (provided we beat the Danes) - what we expected to get. We're still in the League Cup and we've got the FA Cup and Club World Cup to contend for. Not exactly a disaster, is it?

Maybe the board had higher expectations than me for this season. I wanted a top 4 finish, and possibly to win either of the domestic trophies. CL? Nobody retains it, so I don't see the problem of leaving the competition early(ish). Obviously i'd like us to go as far as possible, but this Chelsea team doesn't have the authority on the pitch you need to win the Champions League. Last night was a prime example of that.

Guardiola has already said he won't cut his sabbatical short. Neither Grant or Benitez has the dignity or grace that RDM has represented the club with when we've been lambasted by the media this year. Maybe he's not the best manager for moulding a side of his own, maybe he's not a long term option. But if the club sack him now, there won't be another RDM waiting to take over.

Who is Garnt? If you mean Avram Grant...he did lead us to a UCL final.

Although, if RDM does get the 'sack'...I hope it's not Rafa or Grant or some other mediocre manager.

I don't think the issue is about retaining the UCL...it's more the embarrassment of being the first ever champion to get knocked out in the group stages.

I'd understand that it's embarrassing if it were the same team that won it. But this Chelsea team isn't. The experience/the desire/the hunger that came with Jose's team after 8 years of disappointment is gone.

Steve Clark led us the UCL final. Grant is the guy who managed in the PL for what is collectively less than 2 season, and yet somehow managed to get two side, who were tipped for survival, relegated.

I think this was always going to happen when we hired RDM. I remember someone arguing this in the summer and they were spot on. Roman was 'forced' into giving Robbie the two year deal by the fans and the media. And because he did not have complete confidence in Roberto, he was always likely to sack him at the first bump in the road.

Exactly, this is no longer Jose's team. In the match against Juve, we only had 3 players from the "Jose era"...Cech, Mikel & Cole.

Chelsea FC ‏@chelseafc

Chelsea Football Club has parted company this morning with manager Roberto Di Matteo. More to follow... #CFC

Fuck's sake CFC!

EDIT: Full statement:

Chelsea Football Club has parted company this morning with Manager Roberto Di Matteo.

The team's recent performances and results have not been good enough and the owner and the Board felt that a change was necessary now to keep the club moving in the right direction as we head into a vitally important part of the season.

The club faces a difficult task ahead in qualifying for the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League as well as maintaining a strong challenge for the top of the Premier League while competing in three other cup competitions. Our aim is to remain as competitive as possible and challenge strongly on all fronts.

The owner and the Board would like to thank Roberto for all he has done for the club since taking over in March. Roberto helped guide us to an historic Champions League victory and a seventh FA Cup. We will never forget the huge contribution he has made to this club's history and he will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge.

The club will be making an announcement shortly regarding a new first team manager.

Sacked this morning. Can't believe it.

What the actual fuck!?

Our board still manage to surprise me, how can they do this to someone who started the season well, won us the FA Cup and Champions League, has the faith of the players AND is a Chelsea legend. This would meant to be THE transition year as well - will we ever have one with this joke of a board?!

Fumin'.
