Muzchap 8,966
Money buys competency, not footballing skills. That's not "the most you pay a player, the better he gets". That's where the link is completely lost with the game in itself, every player has to be played in decent conditions whaterver money he has been brought for.Torres adapted to 4 different playing styles, made an awful lot of runs since he's there. What's funny is that people only notice his movements when he doesn't moves because he asks the ball on his feet. Anyway...It's hard to deny that Torres did crystallize most part of the desastrous sporting policy led since Scolari came in. It's seems like the kids' approach after losing 8-0: we lost because of the goalkeeperMoney buys comptency! Of course it does - hence why better players are valued higher!!!And more valuable players want higher wages - there's no mystery there or link lost...It's like a Top Sales Guy - he gets paid shit loads to deliver, if he delivers he gets paid shit loads more...Torres market value was grossly over-inflated, therefore 200k week is in accordance with the 50mil price tag... If the Torres that had scored TWICE against us before signing had shown up at CFC this discussion wouldn't be happening.Instead we got a fucking liability. As for adapting 4 times - do me a favour - EVERY time a team attacks, the players have to ADAPT - as teams are human and hard to predict what happens - it's called 'Anticipation' - Torres just does not have this...The simple facts are:1) He's never in the box when you need him2) He never shoots from outside the box - where he fucking is most of the timeSo - anybody with a relative grasp of cause + effect can see WHY he will never succeed for us...Honestly, just fuck him off - he's not worth defending... He's shit! The whole world knows it and the longer we play him, the more it will damage the Team and OUR reputation...
The Skipper 20,609
Still think we need more than just a pure goal scorer. Mind you, Torres' goal scoring ratio at Liverpool was immense.

HNKS 508
Just watching the Fulham - Sunderland match and I realised we have worse forwards than most teams in the league. Id rather have Fletcher than Torres. I honestly believe Holt from Norwich provides more of an attacking threat than Torres. January cant come quick enough. Muzchap 8,966
I still wish we'd signed Berbatov - Fulham could have won this match and Berbatov was instrumental in everything... 6 million? Amazing bit of business...Loans window ends Thursday, surely there are some Loan strikers we could get?
BlueLyon 9,359
Jovetic or El Sharaawy if they are available. Young, skilled, fast, strong, link-up players, finishers. Not too expensive and realy promissing.I think Falcao would be great but he is huge gamble and we had two big money strikers andboth failed. Cavani is staying until summer, Dzeko, Balo or Lewandowski are unavailable. Bony could be great backup, but no one knows if he is good enough to be starter. Villa is too old, Huntelaar wont fit the team, Llorente is out of form, Suarez wont leave Lpool, Martinez is too expensive. Jovetic or Shaarawy would be great. Where are those people now?

Where are those people now? It's always like that ... Even if Messi is to come, some people will find why he won't make it ... too small, not EPL proven, risk of flop and the list goes on and on.With this team Berba would've done absolutely brilliantly also Sturridge wouldn't have been so unused, because Dimitar has probably the best linkup play for a striker in EPL and would've supplied Studg with countless through balls ... but that's all trash talk, since it's never going to happen anyway. HNKS 508
Its crazy to think nearly every striker in the whole of the premier league is more of a threat than Torres. We the fans and the club put faith in him and he failed us. Fuck off Torres, you aint wanted anymore.

dee25 1,044
There are countless examples and your comments are just miss directed - we have had 2 years with Torres at the club and patience has ran out for the majority of us. Great point. When I read comments like “When some will understand that if Torres has been below expectations mentally, physically and statistically speaking in an team at least as bad as he has been, that'll be a massive step for mankind” ….it seems to me that certain posters on here have this notion that criticisms of Torres’ game can only be warranted or justified if everyone else in the team puts in flawless performances - if the defence becomes a super-human goal repelling force, or if the manager displays the most revolutionary and tactically-sound game-plans of the highest level of brilliance that it can even defy gravity by forcing the ball to levitate itself into the net…. everything else but Torres himself has to be "on-point" for us to then have legitimate concerns and merited criticisms of his performances on the pitch. Now I can understand arguments from those posters who claim that Torres is sometimes used as a scapegoat when the team loses a game, that I get but what I find very questionable are posters like @SeB who (having to carry the burden self-enlightenment) tries to excuse Torres’ poor performances by essentially normalizing it and pretending that such performances are a result of incompetent management or a flawed system. To me it’s the equivalent of saying “Yes, Bobby - since the past two years - has been failing every single one of his classes, but it's not like all the other kids are getting perfect grades, so no matter!”Let’s not kid ourselves, Torres’ performances are substandard, no matter how many ways you try to spin it, the fact of the matter is that his performances are below average (and at times, downright poor....... and make no mistake, Torres’ performances will still be substandard even if he suddenly starts playing for a super-human, flawless team. Just my two cents….

princeharryo 0
Truly, what our team needs is a clinical finisher. Someone who can poach and score from all corners. Now we have one of the best midfields in the world. All we need is someone to bag in the goals. But we don't need to buy a very expensive striker. An average priced one who is pacey and sharp on goal. Blue forever...Prince, Accra-Ghana
