Spain didn't bring any of their best senior players. No Xavi, no Iniesta, no Ramos, etc...

Let's not be delusional here, that bunch would never have gone to the olympics after playing in the Euros and winning the whole thing. Our very own Juan Mata was one of their over-aged players and do you consider him to be shit?

Just looking at that Spain squad it was amazing they couldn't even qualify from their group but it's not because they didn't rate the competition and not bother giving their 100% performance on the pitch but rather because for some reason they just weren't good enough. Maybe they got cocky after their nation had won three of the last major international competitions at senior level and last year that same olympic squad won the U21 Euros or maybe it was something else. I don't know the reasons for their mediocre performances and honestly I don't really give a fuck but I'll just say this: if they didn't think the Olympics were a competition worthy of winning they wouldn't have sent out their best possible U23 squad. FFS they even had Jordi Alba in their team and he played every single minute of Euro2012 and had just signed for Barcelona, I'm sure going to pre-season with them would probably have been nice too but he chose the Olympics over that. Also, Mata had an exhausting season with Chelsea and a little rest would have done him good but he chose to go to the Olympics too. I could go on...

Oscar should play CAM ..... it's as simple as that. You put Mata on the left wing and Hazard on the right. Mata joined us with intentions of playing on the wing and even though he wasn't great there let's not forget it was his first season in the BPL. I have enough faith in Mata to play on the wing again maybe switching with Oscar throughout the game. You then put Eden on the right where he will devastate teams and again switching with Oscar throughout the game. That is what a lot of people have been saying and it is the most obvious and effective solution, to me the best attacking 3 we could field in that set up. For anyone who says Oscar doesn't play wing for Brazil, he quite clearly fills in there when filling the gap the winger has left when cutting in with the ball and he does very well there too I might add.

Exactly, if he plays CAM then he has the freedom to fill in and provide some width if hazard and mata go inside, or drop back if need be as well as linking up with torres or whoever is in front of him.... Him playing in the doubke picot gives him too many restrictions, and i don't really wan't to see him not being able to dictate play because of the possible spaces he could leave behind him, which lampard has been heavily criticised for in pre season.

We shouldn't play Hazard on the right, rather play Mata there. I know Mata was a left winger for Valencia and for us, but he's also played right wing many times for Spain and done very good, he'll be good in any position. And, no I don't think he's miles better in the hole than on the left wing. The only reason he was less influential on the left wing for us last season was because it's easier to shut someone down on the wing and defenses would man mark him like crazy because they could afford to since we had jack shit in the rest of the attacking line, that won't happen this year, so Mata = BEAST in any 3 positions and same goes for Hazard and Oscar. Hazard prefers the centre or the left, you put him left. Oscar is amazing in the hole and he helps defensively, so he can play in the centre and possibly provide more help to the weak double pivot than any other attacking mids and Mata on the right, cut in or whatever he wants.

Oscar has to play in the centre for me because he's very good with both feet and he can be really lethal there.

SORTED!

Just Have Mikel or Romeu playing the DM role, stick ramires and oscar just ahead, ramires can run and hassle everyone from this position and also make those runs from deep. With oscar lying next to him and in a not too advanced position, he can pick up the ball and dictate play and also push up to help the attack when needed, with mata and hazard out wide and torres upfront, the lack of a person lying in the CAM role can be made up the runs and attacking of both oscar and ramires.

I saw Oscar play for Brazil during the Olympics. He really looked special but I couldn't pin point what role he was playing. It will be interesting to see what formation RDM uses to fit him, Hazard etc in the team

1.Spain left their best players at home, really? Other than Thiago (who is injured), who are these 'best players' they didn't bring?

2.Egypt and Korea are arguably better than Mexico.

3.On paper with the teams involved it look weak, yes. But they are better than you give them credit for. If these teams were so poor why have some of the supposed best players looked so average. Cavani was almost non-existent, Hulk has looked mediocre, Mata, Javi Martinez, Sturridge etc.

1. Seriously? Its an under 23 side. Spains best players are over 23.

2. Egypt rarely makes it to the WC and even if they do fail to go past group stages so does Korea. Mexico are consistently in round of 16 or Quarters.

3. Sorry but its not a Football Tournament and players of a certain class lack motivation. Its Olympic and is the reason why countries dont send their best players and is the reason why it is under 23. The fact they GB fans wanted David Beckham to play for the team talks alot about HOW SERIOUSLY PEOPLE TAKE FOOTBALL IN OLYMPICS.

Again. No one gives a fuck about soccer in Olympics. It isnt the same as Euros and WC. Specially for star players like Alba, Mata. Ryan Giggs was shit too cus there is not that same excitement as you see in Euros, WC or Leagues.

Young prospects like Oscar, for them it is a big stage and they will put in their best show. But already proven stars dont give a fuck about Olympics. hence the no show of Cavani, Hulk, Giggs, Mata, Alba, etc.

If those players you mentioned didn't give a fuck about the Olympics they would have stayed at home and had themselves a nice little relaxing holiday before going on pre-season with their clubs, simple as that. No one forced them to participate and they had every right to decline the call-up but instead they chose to go because they wanted to.

And remind me again, where has anyone ever said that the Olympics are as prestigious as the Euros or the World Cup? Clearly it is not but to the players who decided to go it's a competition they really wanted to win and if some players underperformed it may well be because some of them are arrogant and condescending cunts, not because there's something wrong with the tournament itself.

The way I see it, European nations probably don't take the competition as seriously as others because it always clashes with the Euros but to everyone else (mainly South Americans and Asians) it's the only major tournament of the year and they want to put on their best performance. I didn't expect Spain to come up with such a strong squad because most of their best players already played at the Euros only a month before the Olympics but to my surprise they did include the likes of Alba, Mata, Martinez etc. in their team. I don't know, maybe taking part in the Euros could have been partly at fault for them underperforming, not because they didn't give a fuck but because they had very little rest between the the club season and London2012 with all those training camps, friendly matches and then of course playing in the Euros in between.

This is probably the most stupid and delusional post I've ever read.

Stop making all these ridiculous assumptions and trying to express it like they are facts.

Go watch Mata's performance and his body language again and tell me he didn't give a fuck! What an insult to Mata! Show some respects.

1. I thought you and TC would have a bit more common sense than to name the players that were only recently vital in Spain's Euro campaign, hence why I was talking about Thiago being the only 'best' player they didn't bring.

2. What on earth has past World Cup success got to do with the quality of teams at this very competition? I said Egypt and S.Korea arguably have better teams than this Mexico one at this tournament.

3. Second guessing for the win. Do you have close relations to these players? How do you know if they are motivated or not. Absolutely ridiculous assumptions.

Oscar would rather not go into detail about the London club. He just want to think about your first decision with the national team. But he talked about the fact that the blues give him the number 11, the same number used by Didier Drogba, striker of the club from 2004 to 2012.

- It's like I'm playing with the number 10 shirt in the national team. Chelsea is a great team and I can not keep thinking I'll go play with 11 of Drogba. I'm going to Chelsea to do my best and I'm sure thinking this way I will play as well as I have done here in the Brazilian National Team.

sorry for my english, this is my first post here :blue scalf:

More Brazilian players, more Brazilian fans. Welcome sir!

Oscar is an intelligent player and sounds like a smart dude as well. He'll do good!
