Did anybody notice that in the last weeks we're attacking soo much down the right side? IMO that's one of the main reasons why he wasn't such an outstanding player like he was in the first matches of the season. But tbh, nobody could expect the story to continue after winning all MOTM awards in his first 4 (?) BPL appearances.

Yeah, but I only noticed that the last game. He didn't get the ball a lot. I had the impression from the 20th minute till about the 40th he didn't even got one ball. So I looked it up and guess what, he only had 38 touches. Second lowest on the team, besides Ivanovic (30): http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/615106/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2012-2013-Everton-Chelsea . Ramires, the right side, had 63 touches, which is significantly higher (although he played the whole game). We can't expect Hazard to have an impact when he doesn't get the ball. He got it mostly on his own half too. Oscar (15) had almost half of Hazard's touches whilst playing only 5 minutes (he came on in the 85th minute). I wouldn't mind if it was Moses or Mata on the right side who got that many touches in favour of Hazard but I do when it's Ramires. He's not a winger..

To be fair, I think Ramires has done really well against Everton, I wouldn't mind him playing on the right side more often if he does like that. But I do think Hazard needs to be involved more often, or at least he should've against Everton.

Please God NO!

Go back and watch some of Ramires other games - he sucks on RW, Moses or Marin are much better options

Ramires best place is box-to-box midfielder - seriously that's his best position, well I shout less at him in that role than on the wing... Sometimes he just appears brainless and gives the ball away cheaply! At least his finishing has improved though :)

Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but he's another Kalou when playing RW :)

Like above allready said how can Hazard have an impact on the game when he never receives the ball? In Lille Hazar was a one man show, his teammates were searching Eden all the time. Play Mata on the left and Hazard on the ten, and Hazard will shine rather than Mata. Hazard is immense and all will see when his teammates are using him more!

As Muzchap said, that is no-no. Unless we are facing one of the better/big teams in the league or in Europe, playing Ramires at RW is not an option especially when we have the likes of Moses and Marin who can cause better problems going forward and defend decently as well.

Since Ramires at RW is the topic here.......

I've said this in a different thread before. Defensively Ramires could be used as a RW in a 4-4-1-1 or 4-2-3-1 to defend against talented teams left sides but offensively he could come into the middle as a box to box midfielder. It would mean going 4-3-3 though with Mata/Hazard(as an AM), Mikel and Ramires effectively**. Its an interesting thought tbh but it won't happen as it will unbalance the team when we are attacking leaving our right side vulnerable to counter attacks.

**Inverted midfield (2-1 rather than a 1-2 or flat 3)

-------Mata/Eden-------

----------------------------

---Mikel---------Rami---

Anyway Eden hopefully will get a few vs QPR :)

"I want to become the mister 100% of Chelsea ! I’m not saying I want to put all our goals. I want to get maximum performances."

On a personal assessment: "I cannot be unhappy. A rating? For now I'm at maybe 7 out of 10?"

On competition at Chelsea : "This is the way of life at a top, top club. Each player must prove himself. At Chelsea there are only stars."

Finally last night we saw some of that player we'd heard about. The one who was dominating France from an early age, that made a good impression at the beginning of the season. What was really frustrating is that the team didn't see it (which is fair, they're caught up in the action) but neither did management. Rafa's imputus at half-time should've been to make give Hazard as much ball time as possible. The burden on Mata can be reduced a lot if Hazard can find his touch again.

Hazard will become even better when a) he has a striker better than Torres to play with and

b ) the midfielders are able to supply him the ball consistently in dangerous areas

At the moment when Torres plays we have no focal point so he can't look forward or play one-twos because Torres always loses the ball.

Our current group of midfielders only play obvious balls. When Hazard roams and finds space in dangerous areas he very rarely receives the right ball at the right time because our midfielders are either incapable of playing the pass or just don't see it. We need better ball-playing central midfielders who can pass to our forward players when they find these spaces. Hazard only gets the ball when he drops very deep or stands on the touchline. When he finds little gaps in-between the lines the ball rarely comes to him. Look at some of the Spanish teams that people always rave about; when players find space in-between the lines they receive the ball almost immediately because their midfielders are actively looking to find them in those positions.

Spot on!

I hope our midfield players take a good look at this video from the Belgium national team where Dries Mertens shows how you could simply launch Eden if you can read his running lines...

Starts at 00:26min. For those who didn't know already... this was Hazards first goal for the National Team!
