Based on numbers only, his dribbling is probably already (second) best in the world. Take the game today for example, where i considered him to be anonymous for large parts of the game. He still completed 7 dribbles, and during his last 5 matches for chelsea averaged around 6 a game (whoscored). That is insanely high. Players like robben, ronaldo, bale, silva, aguero haven't exceeded 4 or 5 this season. When Di Maria had a wordly against germany, he reached 6. The only one who can present the same numbers is (unsurprisingly) a little argentine by the name of messi.

It's worth pointing out that Hazard was anonymous in parts mostly because of how we set up to play. i.e little to no attacking ambition in the final third. With that taken into consideration, I he played very well with the scraps he fed off of and was brilliant in the counter for the goal.

Obviously hazards best talent is dribbling that's why he focuses on it a lot but a simple pass sometimes is best option something he was reluctant to do in this game (same for willian). I don't want to use the word overhyped but people expect too much from him. He is an excellent dribbler but otherwise a very good player in other abilities(not great). He never shoots despite having the best ability to get into dangerous positions among our team. For me he played very well because I don't overhype him but to those that do he may not have done enough. I love that he never gets injured. With a little more consistency he would do just fine for a 200k a week player may be having 2 very exceptional seasons at an older age but I don't think he is the best at anything among players in the EPL(may be in dribbling he comes really close but not in total skills like Di Maria nor scoring,shooting,assisting) but he will remain among the best though, hopefully consistently and that's ok for me because he cost only 32 million.

We didn't exactly play to his strengths yesterday by attacking City. He did enough tracking back and did it well, no need to be harsh on him.

Hazard - useless performance. Trying to take zabaleta on why he ciuld have passed to csta/willian a number of times. Lost the ball more number of times than torres did in any match I think.

Yes maybe, just maybe he comes really close in dribbling since he actually got twice the amount of succesful dribbles than the second best player so far this season in the EPL while simultaneously keeping the amount of unsuccesful dribbles low (67% succesful).

Also had the highest amount of key passes from open play last season so I think he's pretty good at "assisting". And please define "total skills" lol.

There's something wrong with those stats, because he was dispossessed quite a few times. I don't blame him -- like all of our attackers, he often had little options, since we were sitting in our half -- but he certainly wasn't dispossessed only once. Sometimes stats can be incomplete.

We need a right-sided AM player that is as good or potentially as good as Hazard. There is a massive gap in quality between Hazard and the likes of Schurrle, Willian, Oscar and Salah and it is apparent in games against elite European teams;the other 4 are basically role players just there to do a job and anything they give us offensively is a bonus.

People complaining about Hazard after yesterday make me laugh. We had 40% of the ball and were camped inside our own half for most of the game and yet he still created danger with his dribbling, won free-kicks in dangerous positions and got the assist for our goal with a brilliant pass (his first pass in the build-up to the goal was outstanding too).

Another season and most of our attacking threat is carried by Hazard. Without him we'd be nowhere.

I agree that we have no reason to complain about Hazard's performance, because we played so defensively yesterday, but he's been hardly carrying most of our attacking threat this season, unlike last season. That's an exaggeration. Costa and Fabregas have been doing their share of attacking this season and without them we certainly wouldn't be topping the table now. Hazard has been as important as them, but he's not doing all the work this season.
