how good is this guy ?

Hum, he is not as good as medias (especially the french) are saying he is. That being said, he is still pretty good, he is since one year / one and an a half year one of the best player of La Ligue 1, and he is the best young player for some years now. If you ask me, at the moment he doesn't worth €40m, and if you think he will come and be one of the best player in the league right away, you are mistaking. He obviously won't revolutionize our team in a blink of eye, because he is still quite young. Although, he is really promising, and when you see him play you can easely see that this kid has gold in his feet. He is a really good dribbler, he has a good vision, he is a good passer, and he can unlock a defense. He has a real talent, and in the coming years he will become a top player. Hence €40m wouldn't be too expensive considering how good he can become and how many good things he can give us.

Actually people, I don't think at all he has a buy-out clause. Apologize if I used this term, it was a misuse of langage. Lille are just hoping to get €40m from his sale.

« Le club qui le voudra devra arriver avec les poches pleines car il ne partira pas pour moins de 40 millions d’euros. »

"The club who will want him will have to come with the pocket full of dough because he won't leave for less than 40 millions euro."

That's what I was thinking because the Lille president said that a few months ago!

Anyway, I really doubt he's moving in January, nor should he. Though we should be tempting him into a pre-contract, with Lille's blessings of course.

I'm certain he won't be. Clubs are aware of his intention to leave in the summer and there will be a huge amount of activity from major clubs once the first bid is made. As for the release clause, I doubt there is actually one in place. One thing for certain however, this one will go on and on all summer.

It's best to buy him now as more clubs will be attracted to buy him in the summer. Also if he plays well there's a chance Lile might ask for more money than they are expecting now. Plus we could use his pace and creativity right now.
