David Luiz

As soon Terry goes, we defo need to find a defender in mould of Silva. Someone who is experienced not to make stupid mistakes, keeps himself in defence and not going forward. Not easy task, but Varane is quality that may have not much experience, but still enough and his skill and speed are best. Ramos is quite similar to Luiz and its said enough that when Varane plays, Real has much stronger defence. Also Varane seems to be huge pal of Mourinho. But Real has no reason to sell and Varane has no reason to join us, unless he would get benched at Real or sth.

i concede on hummels. he is error prone. also people should stop making mountain out of mole hills here.

Could give that piece of advice to yourself.

I don't know how anyone could slate Luiz for supposedly being a liability yet at the same time thinks Hummels is WC. That's really funny.

luz in the other hand makes amateurish mistakes in the game and it seems after a long- spell, he is returning to that error prone self again

You seriously can't be disregarding Luiz's consistent performances over almost a whole season and then say Luiz is back to being "error prone" because hasn't been as good over a span of 5 or 6 games. That again, is ridiculous.

whats the point of a great performance after giving away a goal? the everton goal was a poor mistake, an amateurish mistake of trying to steal the ball with mikel and schurlle around the everton player and then leaving his position. the everton goal was his mistake.

the norwich goal is a bad example of what i want to say. luiz giftts goal to the opposition. the norich goal was an acceptable mistake where he probably dint expect the ball from van wolsddjsdjsh (whatever). and so he was a second slower to react. but the everton goal and today's goal are literal gifts to the opposition which adds even more pressure to an already extremely pressurised MID.

also how does seling luiz to barca for 35 frigging million become such a TABOO that u r reacting this way. for 35 mil we can probably get hummels+subotic.also u r reacting as if luiz is irreplacable or something, i dont think thats the case in any way.

1st - stupid argument, maybe to avoid suffering a goal again?

2nd - 35M is basically Hummels' release clause, so no

Not a good game from David today, but it happens. His first proper bad game in a long time for us. He'll put it behind him though. Onwards and upwards.

Very bad game, yeah, but it's his first bad game for us since last December! And now everyone on social media and even some of the experts are saying that he's had an "awful start to the season" after ONE bad game

What these two men said...

He has had a poor start in the league. He's only had 2 tackles in 4 games compared to 12 fouls committed. He's won 52% of his duels which compares poorly to Terry's 69% and Cahill 79%. He's been dribbled by the other team 5 times in 4 games. Cahill and Terry have been dribbled by a combined 4 times in 12 games. He's won a total of 3 headers. Cahill has won 18. Terry has won 31. That is an insane difference. Terry has 59 clearances, Cahill has 21 and Luiz has 11. Across the board, his numbers have stunk this year. Squwaka and whoscored both have Luiz as easily our worst defender in the league this season and our worst or second worst player overall along with Torres. And yes, numbers can be misleading but when they're that bad (Wilian has as many tackles as Luiz..., 3 won headers in 4 games for a 6 foot 2 central defender?? That's embarrassing ) there's really no argument.

That said, we've seen enough of Luiz over the years to know that he is a very good defender (and he's been very good in the CL so far) and a poor few games isn't going to change that. People always tend to overreact to a bad stretch of games when you have a vastly more important sample size that says something else. He should probably sit next game but Chelsea is generally a better team when he's in the starting XI.

I dont know if its related with the fact you are from Canada, and people from anglo-saxon america do love stats, stats and more stats. Football is not a game about stats. Cahill is a very poor defender, and its clear for everyone who have a clue about the game, thats why Mourinho said yesterday that Luiz and JT are ahead of Cahill right now, and dont expect that to change for the rest of the season.

Made a mistake today but tried his best to make it up. He gave us the advantage on several occasions and even created two chances for himself to score so coming off International break I'm not going to be too upset by his performance today. It was a silly mistake to make though....

He was due a moment like that. Has cut down on those lapses of concentration.

Very casual with his passing though. That is something he can work on. Just gave the ball away 2-3 times when under no pressure.

"all i wanted to say is said we could have bought 2 WC center-backs with 35mil. the first example that came to my mind was hummels-subotic (as they were , for me, the best CB pairing last season). but people have discarded all the other iportant points that i made before and after but have concentrated on these 2 names for some weird reason

(who were just instinctive names). " how conviniently did u not read the main part of my post. but yes, do carry on the hummels-thing do defend luiz.

over a whole season? luiz was good just was the 2nd half of the season.but which position - CDM. no one here is debating his class. his ease on the ball and his general ball-play, which is absolutely brillaint. but for a CB- he is a disaster waiting to happen.

Hummels and Subotic are so much error prone. Cringe worthy that Luiz is getting so much stick for a mistake. Let's get rid of Cech, Terry, Cole, Lampard, Luiz, Mikel. Bloody hell Hazard has been poor until the Cardiff game. FUCKING GET RID OF HIM AND BRING BACK JOE COLE ! They all make mistakes right?

give away a stupid goal like he did against everton and then perform brilliantly, i would rather take just a good solid performance of not making a mistake and just doing the needful. its not a stupid argument. its a fact. defenders' life is not easy. 89 minutes and 59 seconds of out-of the -world play can go to crap if u do something stupid in the remaining 1 second. cos it will always lead to a goal.

this is the 3rd time i am posting this particular part
