Roman Abramovich Thread

What exactly Putin things has Abramovich been doing since 1999 ?
Sold nuke secrets, made or financed propaganda ?
How and when ?
Savvidis of PAOK Salonika of Greece is the one doing it. His tv channel OPEN TV is the pro-Putin channel plus other statements he has made in the past (albeit when things were quiet).
These days after the invasion nobody seems to challenge him, although he is guilty of many midsdeameanours:
A few days ago -after the Ukraine war was declared- he was arraigned by the court for two years for an invasion of the pitch in 2018 carrying a gun (it was a coincidence the date of the trial).
Fifteen days ago PAOK hooligans murdered an innocent young man. They started off as a convoy from PAOK supporters club offices and on the road they killed a man using knives and sickles (!). Then the gang was arrested and they confessed but yesterday in the PAOK match a huge banner was displayed inside the PAOK stadium saying "freedom to our brothers" i.e. the murder gang !
The stupid Grk government are doing nothing about these things, including the Putin connection.

Liz Truss refuses to rule out Roman Abramovich sanction as 'oligarch hit list' compiled

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich could still face sanctions in the wake of Russia's invasion on Ukraine - despite relinquishing the "stewardship and care" of the club

Foreign Secretary Lizz Truss has refused to rule out slapping Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich with sanctions in the wake of Russia's invasion on Ukraine.

Abramovich made headlines on Saturday evening when he released a statement announcing that he was relinquishing the "stewardship and care" of the club to the Blues charitable foundation until further notice.

The 55-year-old allegedly has links with Vladimir Putin - something he denies - and is one of many Russian oligarchs who could be sanctioned in the coming weeks as Europe bids to deter the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson had, wrongfully, claimed earlier this week that Abramovich had already been subjected to sanctions.

However, Truss refused to rule out the Chelsea chief when she was asked specifically about Abramovich on Sunday morning.

"This week we'll be introducing the economic crime bill which will create a lot more transparency around the structures of these companies and make it much clearer what is going on," Truss told Sky News.

"I've compiled a hit list of these oligarchs...I'm not going to say who is on the list, but what I can tell you is there are over 100 billionaires in Russia; we have compiled a hit list of these oligarchs, we're working through and putting the cases together and every few weeks we will sanction new oligarchs.

"There will be a rolling program of sanctions, we will go through the hit list. We're targeting oligarchs private jets, we'll be targeting their properties, we'll be targeting other possessions that they have and there will be nowhere to hide."

Labour MP Chris Bryant had called for Abramovich to face sanctions earlier this week after Putin went ahead with plans to attack Ukraine.

Bryant claimed that Abramovich should be banned from owning a football club in the country and made further calls for the billionaire's assets to be seized.

Abramovich is being roasted alive on yank telly and major newspapers. His being number one (literally) on the Navalny 35 list has put a bullseye on him.

We need to find a buyer quick. It is likely only going to get much worse.

Would be huge if Roman assists in getting this conflict sorted out. Of course priority above all else is to find a peaceful resolution in Ukraine as millions of lives and the freedom of a country is at stake, but there is of course also a more selfish consideration too that anything he does to indicate that he's helping will also act as a positive around the club at present in a time of uncertainty. At the very least his willingness to work with Ukraine and trying to resolve the issues can only help to soften and diffuse the whole situation around him and the club.

Given the hammering he and Chelsea have had recently from so many people willing to voice their opinions but essentially offer nothing, this does seem wildly ironic. Actions always speak louder than words.

Wow this changes everything

Abramovich's spokesperson said: "Abramovich was contacted by the Ukrainian side for support in achieving a peaceful resolution, and that he has been trying to help ever since."

Considering what is at stake, we would ask for your understanding as to why we have not commented on neither the situation as such nor his involvement. Thank you."

Ukrainian film director and producer Alexander Rodnyansky also confirmed Abramovich's involvement, insisting the Chelsea owner was the only person to respond to calls for help.

Rodnyansky has claimed that representatives from Ukraine's government have expressed gratitude for Abramovich's attempts at help.

"I can confirm that the Ukrainian side have been trying to find someone in Russia willing to help them in finding a peaceful resolution," said Rodnyansky.

They are connected to Roman Abramovich through the Jewish community and reached out to him for help.

"Roman Abramovich has been trying to mobilize support for a peaceful resolution ever since. Although Roman Abramovich's influence is limited, he is the only one who responded and taken it upon himself to try.

"If this will have an impact or not, I don't know, but I am in contact with Zelensky's staff myself, and know that they are grateful for his genuine effors."

If that's true he better check every cup of tea he has from now on

The real reason for Ukraine is that Putin is afraid of losing his republics.
Those putin republics are copies of the "tehero blanco" regimes of South America in the sixties-seventies.
He managed to salvage Belarus with the election fraud, then Kazhakstan with the commandoes he sent there.
Now he's after Ukraine to prevent further westernization.

Abramovitch has loose connection but it's doubtful he has any interests in any of this. He is not prepared to join the resistance to Putin but what's in it for him to support the Putin plans ?
It looks like a case of Nana Mouskouris and the Papadopoulos regime of Greece. The great diva did n't want to have anything to do with politics -something Theodorakis did n't like at all- but she was not related to the regime.

The biggest Putin supporter was Trump.
Then brexit. The "best" of brexit plans was the dissolution of the EU so western Europe is divided into small bickering nations. Not much Boris could do to affect this but that's what they wanted.
