Hart can not be compared to Lampard because he was bought during the Thaxin years, Zabaleta was bought in 2008 when Mansour took over. They only have Richards as someone recognised as a player who played for them before billionaires arrived whether it was Thaxin or Mansour. They bought their captain too, the captain of our club arrived through the academy.

Thaksin wasn't there in 2006. He bought City one year after Hart signed.

We would exist. If Gronkjaer never scored that goal that qualified us for the Champions League then we'd be nonexistent.

A draw would have been enough in that match so Gronkjear's goal wasn't the "winner" in the CL qualification respect Desailly's header was.

Transfers in 2003:

Glen Johnson

Geremi

Wayne Bridge

Damien Duff

Joe Cole

Juan Sebastian Veron

Adrian Mutu

Alexei Smertin

Claude Makelele

Scott Parker

Total spending: 121,000,000; excluding 3 free transfers.

If that's not changing the squad at all, I don't know what is. That's virtually an entire team we bought:

Ambrosio (free transferred GK)

Johnson- CB-CB- Bridge

Veron-Makelele-Parker

Cole-Mutu-Duff

We could have lined up like that for a game and still had Smertin and Geremi on the bench.

With the exception of Veron, who were even known as world class or superstars? None. We overhauled the squad no differently than all teams do. We just paid a bit over the top lol. Man City filled their squad with superstars and spent way more. I don't hate them tho... (yet).

What superstars? Tevez, Toure, that's it. Apart from that they bought overpriced English wank like Lescott, Milner, Barry etc.

They have Nasri, Aguero and Silva as well. Anyway I dislike the name of this thread as I hate Man Citeh.

Nasri is far from a superstar. Also we're talking early signings here; their first season signings post-takeover were:

Robinho (lol)

Wayne Bridge

Shay Given

Craig Bellamy

Nigel de Jong

Hardly world class, any of them.

The next season:

Barry (lol)

Santa Cruz

Tevez (fair enough)

Adebayor

Kolo Toure

Sylvinho

Lescott

Vieira

Johnson

Take Tevez out and it's the same, not one world class player in there. Adebayor and Toure were good. The rest were signed off the back of one good season and have been rubbish since, excluding Lescott who had a good season last year.

We bought 3 world class players in 2003/04 (Makelele, Veron, Crespo), and in 2004/05, we bought another 2 (Robben, Carvalho). We bought 4 in our first two seasons, they bought one.

And we continued with superstars:

2005/06- Essien

2006/07- Shevchenko, Ballack, Ashley Cole

We slowed down after that, but in the first 4 years we bought 9 superstar players, that were among the best in the world at their position at the time of signing. City have bought 4 so far (Tevez, Yaya Toure, Silva, Aguero) in the same length of time. The Nasri's and Robinho's and other shite they've bought can be compared with Ferreira, Cech, Drogba, in that they weren't considered one of the best in the world when they signed.

To say that they bought the PL while you look at us is enormous hypocrisy. We bought it more than they did.

Meh the whole 'buy the league' is just shite anyway. You have to play 38 games the same as everyone else.Players may cost more then other teams but doesnt mean they'll perform well.Have to have a Manager who knows what they're doing to make it work and really keep everyone happy in a way

Robhino...that was a random signing in the end.Probably spent first few months wondering where Fergie was and why they were in blue.Didnt seem like he wanted to be there more like he had no choice cause they were never gana sell him to us

Might have to revive the 'We hate City thread' after they did us no favours, as per usual. Yaya on his A-game against us, against Spurs.. strolling around casually.

TX has a point. But still, we don't hate man city  One of cap's unfortunate threads. Who decided to make it "official" though? Staff should remove it from the title if it's not recognized as a general consensus of the forum.
