Think Atletico will be rubbing their hands tbf as we are still a side with inconsistencies which will play into their hands. We all know we are gonna attack them and they will just do their thing sitting off. They aren’t as good as before perhaps but they are one of the best cup teams in Europe because you know they will make it tough, the game will be scrappy, they will play with a real intensity and although they don’t play amazing attacking football they are more than functional. This is a good gauge to see where we are at in my opinion. But a very tough tie.

I think you're talking about the 2019/20 Chelsea and not the 2020/21 Chelsea...

I read some comments from German Atletico Madrid fans and it seems they struggle with pace and they are afraid of werner.

They got knocked out by a werner less Leipzig last season , Liverpool destroyed them only for Adrian to hand them the match , prior to that in recent years they bottled it vs juve and got knocked into the Europa league by us , they certainly aren’t unbeatable and are considerably worse than the 2 sides that reached the final

Not to mention when they went down into the Europa they were getting carved apart by Wenger's Arsenal but got let off the hook due to Arsenal's wastefulness and Koscielny giving Greizmann a present.

For Atletico it could be more difficult against Bayern, but for us it was the hardest of all possible draws.

What about the games against Everton, Krasnador, United, Seville, Southampton, West Brom, Liverpool this season? Still mistakes, still inconsistencies, still things to be worked on. 

Wouldn’t say we have completely resolved everything we struggled with last season, we have made good steps in the right direction yes with set pieces and more solid at times but to think we still don’t have weaknesses or are a complete team is naive. I mean Everton just showed us a valuable lesson at the weekend imo and I would not be surprised if Atletico and other teams follow suit against us. We still haven’t won any of our big games domestically this season also.

Also regardless of what people think about Atletico right now or think about Diego Simeone wouldn’t write them off yet, in terms of knockout football they are more than capable. Its not as if we arent favourites if thats what people think I meant, its just that the idea I am getting from posts on here is that we are basically through to the next round already because its only Atletico. Which couldn’t be further from the truth. Its a good opportunity to see where we are at. Particularly as they are a better side that what we have played in the CL already arguably.
