Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (Paris Saint-Germain Chairman and CEO)
"We played a good match. After the loss to Lyon, we showed Paris Saint-Germain's true face. It's important for the confidence, because we have a very important match next week against Chelsea. Now we need to recover so we can prepare well for our next two matches."

Javier Pastore (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder)
"It was a cup match, and everyone wanted to win it. The important thing was that we came out on top. Now we're into the semis. For the confidence, it's great to have won and, personally, I'm very happy to have played. I'm getting back into the rhythm. It's great for the team to win before we take on Chelsea, but we still have a match to take care of on Saturday…"

Read this article please. It's absolutely disgusting, sorry.

"The Champions League doesn't NEED Leicester"

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/mar/04/champions-league-leicester-relevent-sports-charlie-stillitano

They want to create a separate competition breaking away from the CL that would allow the biggest teams to compete every year. Chelsea is part of the talks.

“What would Manchester United argue: did we create soccer or did Leicester create [it]?” said Stillitano, who met United’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, on Tuesday. “Let’s call it the money pot created by soccer and the fandom around the world. Who has had more of an integral role, Manchester United or Leicester? It’s a wonderful, wonderful story – but you could see it from Manchester United’s point of view, too.”

“This is going to sound arrogant and it’s the furthest thing from it … but suddenly when you see the teams we have this summer in the ICC you are going to shake your head and say, ‘Isn’t that the Champions League?’” Stillitano said. “No, the Champions League is PSV and Ghent.”

This is so insulting since PSV actually BEAT MAN UTD TO REACH THE SECOND ROUND.

Fuck this fucking shit, if you want to play in the CL, WIN THE FUCKING LEAGUE

Arsenal have already made it clear that they have no interest in such a set up and, today, Steve Atkins, on behalf of Chelsea FC, has categorically denied that any such idea was even discussed at the recent meeting. The only person I have heard speak in favour of the super league idea is a continental European who is an officer of a continental European club. I think you are readily persuaded to buy into the worst possible characterisation of the situation because that's what fits with your overall outlook.

The amount of chances Roma missed was incredible, always going to happen that Madrid would eventually make them pay.

Salah gave Marcelo an absolute torrid time last night, roasted him nigh on every time he had the ball. Madrid really are not all that, and as for Bale....complete ghost performance from him.

Chelsea set to lose at least £40 Million Pounds if they fail to qualify for Champions League... with Eden Hazard and Diego Costa in demand the cost of missing out could be devastating

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3483795/Chelsea-set-lose-40m-fail-qualify-Champions-League-Eden-Hazard-Diego-Costa-demand-cost-missing-devastating.html

By KIERAN GILL FOR MAILONLINE

PUBLISHED: 12:24 GMT, 9 March 2016 | UPDATED: 14:13 GMT, 9 March 2016

  • Chelsea host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday
  • The competition is Chelsea's last realistic chance of qualifying next season
  • The Blues would stand to lose at least £40m as a result of their failure
  • Chelsea could lose more from sponsors with possible players leaving too

It's all or nothing for Chelsea against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night in a Champions League last-16 second leg that can be considered last chance saloon to make this a successful season.

Failure to qualify for Europe's elite competition next term is set to cost at least £40million and even more if sponsors jump ship, while transfers in and out of the club could take a hit too.

They are unlikely to win the Champions League this season and would have to rely on qualifying the old fashioned way through the Barclays Premier League. With them 10th, however, it's looking more and more like Chelsea will be left in no man's land – either not in Europe or, what some consider worse, forced to compete in the Europa League.

This Dortmund side is a joy to watch. Full of young, energetic, technically gifted players with a desire to attack and also play great football. There isn't an old make shift midfielder in there, there isn't a player that looks technically poor out there for them, just pure energetic players with talent and desire.

If we are going to follow a benchmark this should be it.
