zolayes 14,489
this season is make or break for him . Time to mature or slip back to obscurity. Let's hope for a great loan..He looked such a greatprospect two years ago
EskWeston 696
Gael Kakuta has tonight joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until January 1.The Frenchman helped his country to the final four of the Under 20 World Cup in Colombia this summer and will now link up with Owen Coyle at the Reebok Stadium, following in the footsteps of Daniel Sturridge, who had a very successful loan spell at Bolton last season. To date, Kakuta has made 16 Chelsea appearances since making his debut in a 4-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers in November 2009.The playmaker spent several months on loan at Fulham last season under Mark Hughes, appearing seven times in their colours and scoring his first senior goal in their 3-0 win at Sunderland in April. He signed a long-term deal with the club in December 2010 which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2015.Source: Chelsea FC
Kostas 1,468
Bolton play proper football, so Gael should prosper.Ditto. Although I wouldn't celebrate until his 5th league start. BlueLion.
TacticalBlues 2,817
He does have a fantastic opportunity at Bolton, and if he can just gain some confidence and most importantly game-time it'll be great for all involved parties. Let's be honest, Kakuta is one of the best talents in the world and just last year he was U-20 Euro golden-boy. Given the opportunity he can become whatever he wants to be and if he fulfills his potential I honestly think we could avail one of the best footballers in the world. Term-X 7,891
http://www.dailymail...n.html?ITO=1490Kakuta admits he had no option but to look for first-team football elsewhere because of the long list of talent ahead of him in the Chelsea ranks. - 25 - and BlueSunshine
GodZola 630
I would of preferred Kakuta to stay & get some experience with the first team but with Maloulda hanging around like a bad smell he won't get a sniff of first team action especially with the impressive Mata in pole position.I'm told Owen Coyle is your 'proper track suit manager' so it has to be the right move for everyone concerned. Kakuta will gain vital experience & this will aid his development. Kakuta is in the right hands, I just hope he gets games to improve his game & with that his confidence will grow. GodZola 630
Next season he will join Hamburgo.Possibly, but if he has a good year at Bolton then he will be brought back to the fold next season especially with the likelihood of Maloulda being sold by then........crosses fingers! NoFear 23
Perfect win-win-win situation. Good for all parties concerned. Would be interesting to see what position Coyle plays Kakuta in. As a no. 10 or a winger or support striker.
EskWeston 696
IF Kakuta gets the games then this loan will be brilliant for him. He is supremely talented and just needs to be played to develop to a level where he can be very useful for Chelsea. I am keeping my fingers very much crossed that he gets the same oppertunities that were given to Sturridge when he was there. laura90 and Term-X
francozola 2,040
I do hope he gets a good amount of games. AVB and Owen Coyle are buddies so they must've communicated about it. The loan to Fulham last season was a waste of time; I'm glad he didn't go back there. TacticalBlues
Guest justin_3d
You guys are all right. But that's if Kakuta comes good at Bolton. If he does, then i will scratch my head and ask why did we not get Owen Coyle as manager?Since he did good for Wilshere, Sturridge, and if he does good with Kakuta, then Own is the coach we need for long term cause he will prove to be good with youngster.Unless AVB can do better then him this season with Romeu, Bertrand, Josh and other youngster. Tomo 21,751
If Coyle can pull Kakuta back from the abyss like he did with Danny i will be his slave for a month.@Justin have to dis-agree sadly i think Coyle is one of those managers like Roy Hogsdon that belong out of the limelight, i'd like to be proved wrong but i think he might go down the same way Roy did at Pool if he came to a top challenging team. Chances are that Kakuta will be a higher quality than the players in the Bolton squad, whereas at Chelsea he has to get past some of the best players in the world. Too easy to make the judgement you have, in reality it is far less simple. eldo, Term-X, Rambo and 2 others
manpe 10,861
whereas at Chelsea he has to get past some of the best players in the world. You mean the best players in the world who play his position? Like Anelka and Kalou?... yeah, Kakuta has high standard players ahead of him Quick and witty little bastards, always having opposition sweating and chasing in full speed, making defenders feel embarrased of their profession. No way can we afford to drop one of them wizards to give a promising youngster a chance. But your point is fair. With how things are going, I can't see none of the Nicolas Kaloudas making way for him, they are far superior in our management's minds. laura90

Kostas 1,468
I looked around a couple of Bolton forums, granted they don't know much about Kakuta but they're more excited about getting N'Gog than Gael
BLionheart 516
Even though Kakuta's talent was pretty obvious during 2009-2010 where he showed a lot of potential and was MOTM during almost all matches he played a part in.During 2010-2011 and since the end of Euro U-19 tournament Geal has been a huge disappointment , I don't know what his problem is but those two players the Kakuta pre and post the Euro tournament looks totally different to me ,May be it's because carlo damaged his confidence with keeping him in the reserves after such promising cameos , may be he just needs some more game-time or may be he just lacks desire and ambition to make it to the top level.Anyway Kakuta now is in good hands and he has almost the perfect loan , so if he doesn't live up to the hype earning himself a place at Bolton and then a return to Chelsea as a first team player , then the CFC board and management are not the ones to blame.2011-2012 IMO will define who Geal Kakuta is gonna be , and only Geal has to take responsibility for that . Tomo 21,751
Making him take the deciding penalty at Blackburn didn't help, what the hell was Carlo thinking gambling his good start at Chelsea like that BLionheart
