Lukaku wasn't AVB's signing, reflected through the minimal times he used him.

If Roman wants Chelsea to be successful, its time he gives his manager full control. Its embarrassing to see the board buy players which managers don't really need.Torres is a perfect example.

Torres was a Carlo signing, don't let the media fool you.

CL is a trophy that prodigies like Mourinho and Ancelotti (and Grant) could never win in the years trusted to them. If Robbie finally does it after only being in charge for 2½ months with the crappiest team in the Roman times and still gets axed, I will declare our board idiots of the decade.

Not even sunglasses help against this sun...amazing how they say that Robbie expects to be axed while talking about a dressing room source ( it could be Martin Lipton's locker). They can fuck of, I like what Gourlay said, let's finish the season and we will see. We have a CL to win B)

is this the same fish wrap that said the players hated RDM more than they hated AVB??? I lost respect to the fun long time ago...Many here in the US haven't forgotten when they posted EASY on the front page in reference to England's draw for the SA 2010 WC.

EASY was spelled on how the group was supposed to finished & of course The Yanks were on the Bottom...Wondered how that worked out

It's the Sun...they write a lot of bollocks, I stopped reading them a while ago...they even twisted words of Lazar Markovic when he gave an interview. Poor lad said only a couple of things and that his favorite team is Chelsea. Sun made a story out of it that he said that his next club is Chelsea...

AVB - lots of posts and threads devoted to his tenure. RDM's PL record since he's taken over seems to be glossed over because of the feel good factor of everybody pulling together and not bitchin' publicly PLUS the high of the CL championship chase.

RDM pl record is worse because we've had to play Arsenal, City, Tottenham, Newcastle, Liverpool and we haven't fielded a full strength team in the majority of them. I guarentee with a full strength team we'd have beaten Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool

The players are simply not interested in the PL. They can't motivate themselves for it. We're blaming managers for not motivating them, but a lot of the blame lies with their own inability to perform at 100%.

This good run under RDM is only because initially, the players wanted to prove people wrong about the AVB stories (they got him sacked etc) and then when the Barca draw was made................

So lets not get carried away with all these "RDM has saved our season" stories because yes, he has done a really good job and in terms of man-management it's probably how AVB should have started off, but these results technically have very little to do with him.

Have to say i don't agree with that, the players that RDM have been using in the premiership are mostly the 2nd team players and its not been a fact of them not being motivated, there just not good enough. In the league we've been playing a front line of Ramires Malouda Sturridge and Torres in front and lets be honest there isn't an ounce of creativity in that. The poor PL record has been as a results of tough fixtures where we haven't got to play our strongest teams. If we had been able to play:

Cech

Ivanovic Cahill/Luiz Terry Cole

Lampard Mikel

Ramires Mata Kalou

Drogba/Torres

Week in week out, i can assure you we would have finished in the top 4. To say the results have very little to do with him is harsh

I agree that if RDM had been our manager from the start of the season, we would be in the top 4. I didn't mean that he's a crap manager or anything like that. I just meant that tactically, he hasn't shown anything extraordinary so far. This is not completely his fault of course, as our squad depth is pretty much non-existent. If the first team (by which I mean the few quality players that can still perform) doesn't play, the remaining players are either past it (Malouda, Essien and co) or not good enough to impact games (Kalou, etc)

I should reiterate that I'm not saying that he should definitely not be our manager, or that he's not good enough. For me, the problem is simply that the evidence we have so far is not really meaningful since:

1) Some players know their time is up and sensed that the CL is there to be won as a last hurrah

and

2) Some players wanted to prove the media stories about them getting managers sacked were wrong so initial results (Birmingham, Napoli) were positive and then we just went on a roll

The Barcelona result was good tactics but at the same time when we were drawn together, you could just sense the lift in both the fans and players' attitudes about the competition. If the fans were so excited about it, can you imagine how pumped up the likes of Drogba, Terry, Lampard, Cole and co. must have been?

Anyway, I would like for him to be given a 1 year contract, I think he deserves that. I'm just not getting carried away like some people. Just my opinion!
