The only place to be 11,313
Isn't he 19 though? There's plenty of time for him to make it here. I don't want him to be sold. I like him a lot - despite coming from Sao Paulo - and I think in 2-3 years from now when he's on the age I expect us to really use him, some of our AMs may not even be here...At the moment I'd say he's got less chance than Boga and Traore of making it here. He's a very nice player but I've never been blown away by him.If we sell him then I'd expect maybe 拢8 million at the most with some clauses built-in lionsden

The only place to be 11,313
different positions though, aren't they? Aren't Boga and Traore strikers or at least the kind of AM that Schurrle or Hazard are?I see Lucas more like a CAM...Boga is a 10 or a left-winger, Traore (from what I've seen of him) is the same. Maybe Piazon makes it here as a left-winger but I'm just not convinced by him. He's a very nice player but he doesn't seem to do anything exceptionally. Nice vision, nice touch, nice movement....but nothing that makes you stand up and take notice and it was the same in the youth team. His problem is that Hazard and Schurrle are both only a few years older than him but far better on the left wing, and Oscar, Mata, De Bruyne, Traore and Boga can all play through the middle. He'd need at least one more year on loan somewhere of a higher standard than Vitesse, unless they get into the Champions League and he can show something there. Fernando 6,585
I always thought that with this guy we can play him as a false 9. Does that has any hope of ever being true? The only place to be
Spyker 27
Massive potential this lad has, really tearing the dutch league aprt, but still think his future lies in the no.10 position. But obviously he has to improve himself physicaly if he wants to play in the premier league and become starter for us which i have faith he will.. ChelseasMessiah 304
I'm fond of him. I picked him to be my loanee watch of the season and I have not been disappointed. Whether he'll make it here or not, only time will tell.

ChelseasMessiah 304
His second was a beauty. 10 goals and 7 assists so far this season. Merih

Barbara 15,149
to be honest I'm surprised he's doing so well.I like him, but I tend to agree with @The only place to be that he's nothing special.Maybe he did come too early here and is only now resuming his development from when he was in Brazil.I still don't think he's that much technical, but if he's lethal, he doesn't need to be the guy with the best technique around. Players who capitalize is what we miss the most now imo, whether in defense or attack.
Jype 6,398
Watched the second half and what a game he had. Two goals as well as an assist and he was unlucky not to get more, he made a great pass to Atsu whose shot hit the post and had a few chances of his own to get the third goal. Even though being a star man in the Eredivisie isn't much, at least he's playing a lot of games and getting his confidence back. At his age that's what matters most. Next season will be crucial for his development when he gets sent on loan to a tougher league and he has to prove his worth there as well. Maybe the Bundesliga would be a good fit for him next year? Igi26 346
I'm really shocked by some people here. He does not do nothing special? If 10 goals and 8 assists isn't special enough in Eredivisie then I don't know. We bought MVG from same league and he was big there, the man who is currently tearing apart the same league isn't good. Something is wrong here.

Gilvorak 3,734
Piazon is basically the Brazilian version of Thomas Muller. In what way is that not special? Ambidextrous, exceptional work rate, decent in the air, great finisher, creative & has an excellent touch. He's not an exceptional dribbler nor is he the fastest but his IQ and movement are both exceptional.I understand people reluctant to go overboard with praise because of the League he's playing in but what he's doing at just 19 is exceptional in my eyes. He's practically carried perennial bottom dwellers like Vitesse to 1st place. He's 3rd in the League in goals scored, 2nd in assists. He's very strong mentally, extremely confident and has a certain maturity about him.I think his future is as a 9.5/False 9. ChelseasMessiah 304
I'm still convinced that his future is as a striker or a supporting striker. I think he could play anywhere. The way he's pressing, tackling and intercepting non stop has really surprised me, I never thought he had that in his locker, add that to the pace and acceleration he's been showing leads me to think he can be moulded to play in any attacking position. He's got the technique, skill and the ability to play with either foot, he's only 19, I'm curious to see what he'll be like when he's 22. I think he's gonna be a top player, probably not for us as we are stoked in the attacking positions, but who knows he might force his way into the side in a year or two. Barbara 15,149
but if he can play as a second striker or a false 9 then we have more than enough space for him next season...anyway, I'd keep him on loan another season - but I don't see a problem if he stays in Vitesse. Chelsea have more control over them than anywhere else... players his age (especially his position) need a lot of playing time and confidence. I don't think he has a problem handling physicality, he's big and he's strong and he already presses very high and he can tackle. I'd rather him there than another Malaga nonsense.People suggested Bundesliga, but it's yet another La Liga, it's too polarized, and only has a bigger name, but for mid-table teams (which realistically is what he'd get) isn't that much interesting imo.A lot of you seem impressed with him, I have to admit I've barely seen Lucas ever since he left Sao Paulo, and he was 17 back then, so maybe he's this player you guys keep describing, but he never seemed like someone especially talented, but someone very objective and with good individual results. Hopefully you're right and there's more to him
