If the rest of this season goes well for the kid, do we send him back there next year or try and get him a Premier League loan to one of the newly promoted sides?

What should happen is either a Premier League loan or even have him on the bench for the first team. But knowing Chelsea, what will likely happen is that he'll be sent out again on loan to the Championship for a year or two and stagnate from there on.

Didn't like him going to Derby because they weren't really stuck for goals, but my word, this lad doesn't care about the odds does he? You stick him on and he gives you a goal. I don't want to get carried away because it's obviously still extremely early, but he seems to have a mental toughness about him and that can only be a good thing. Really looking forward to seeing his development. Another good season in the Championship and who knows?

Haven't seen the goal but this is the BBC live text decription:

Goal!Goal! Blackburn Rovers 1, Derby County 1. Patrick Bamford (Derby County) left footed shot from outside the box to the bottom left corner. Assisted by Conor Sammon.

Another from outside the box.
