I really hope that we get a buy-back clause in the deal.

I think Kevin is a great player that just needs playing time to show his real potential, so it would be very nice to have the chance to re-sign him in a couple of years.

Well, at least we earn some money from this sale compared to the price we paid for him.

A bit silly to sell him now unless its for a really good price. It should be a loan. Watch his price rise during the summer.

True.

Kevin has looked awesome for Belgium over the past year, so it couldn't hurt to showcase him during the World Cup where he's likely to be a standout for his national team and THEN decide what to do with him. If he lights it up we can either keep him and give him another shot or jack up the transfer fee if another club want him permanently.

His manager is saying a deal is far from being done. He says a new detail made it difficult to sign a deal with Wolfsburg.

Probably the 'detail' would be the asking price, Chelsea are playing hard to get, and want big bucks from KDB.

The Daily Mail are reporting that the agents of Chelsea's Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne have agreed terms with Wolfsburg. If the two clubs can now strike terms, the 22-year-old will head back to the Bundesliga. The Germans are understood to be willing to part with £17million to sign De Bruyne permanently but the Blues may only be willing to sanction a loan move.

£17 million, yes please!

or watch it drop to the range of 8-10m if he doesn't impress there. Its almost impossible to get quality playing time when you are loaned out in January to the major European League unless you can emulate the very best. Piazon last season hardly played at Malaga during the second half of the season.

We shouldn't get greedy and keep him around hoping to get more on him in the summer. 15m with a buy back clause is extremely fair.

I don't think he has a future at Chelsea under José Mourinho. Another case, akin to Mata, where he isn't a Mourinho-type player. It is a shame to see great talent go to waste, I think it's for the best to let him leave on loan for the foreseeable future, to secure a World Cup spot, and then he should review his position at the start of next season. If he isn't going to get the chances to play, he may as well move elsewhere.

First off, what are you talking about 'buy-back clause'? Sorry? That doesn't happen. There is not such a thing as a 'buy-back clause' in football. If they existed, why would anyone buy young players? There may be a 'first refusal' option, but I still think such things are stuff of fantasy or, at the very most, gentlemen's agreements. They are not truly viable in modern football and I will bet my life that there is no 'buy-back' clause in the KDB deal.

How could his price drop? It certainly can't get any lower. What? You think they're taking a risk by spending millions on him in January? The best young player of the Bundesliga 12-13? Please... He will stroll into their team and be their shining light. There isn't a better player than him in the Wolfsburg team.

And your comparisons between Piazon and him couldn't be more off the mark. Again, are you honestly comparing the best young player of the Bundesliga 12-13 to Piazon? A 19 year old who was competing against the likes of Isco? Lol, just stop. KDB is not just some youngster from our academy...

KDB has struggled to play for Chelsea. There is a chance he will leave on a permanent basis if enough cash id offered.

Wolfsburg offered to pay 12m, but cannot go any higher, I read.

Now, I do not get it with Chelsea. Why not accept 12m & let the kid go, so he can continue in his career ?

Bad enough that he has been sitting around for 5 months & now they want to dicker over 2-3 millions ?

Sympathy and emotion should be kept out of it. This is business.

This is about what's best for Chelsea FC, not Kevin de Bruyne. If feel bad that it hasn't worked out for him but the days of us getting fucked by the likes of Matic and Sturridge moving to other clubs for peanuts and killing it should be over. At least if KdB is sold for a high price it can be used for another good player.

Business aside. What exactly was KDB promised in the summer, then ? Meanwhile, he ended on the bench. Nobody is stupid enough to pay 20m or so as Chelsea is asking. Bought for 7m & asking 20m ? Lol.

Al right, maybe the buy-back clause is not happening.( anyway that wasn't the point I was making)

I'm not saying he is gonna be a flop in the Bundesliga, Its just that I'm not sure if we goes straight into the Wolfsberg first team or any top side for that matter. I really wish he do well but if he isn't able to perform like he did last season with Bremen, then I'm sure we're not even gonna get 12m out to the lad if we decides to sell him next season after a failed loan.

Rather sell him now and give him some stability so that he can perform well this season, if not the next. The thought of being loaned around is very depressing given the talent the kid has. A loan here, half a season on the bench, loan again. That's how you destroy one's career. Sell him, allow him to settle down and look forward to the future.

I agree that too many loans and not enough stability can hinder development, but the timing of this loan makes it perfectly acceptable. If he gets loaned, he won't be worried about his long-term career; the only thing he'll be worried about is the World Cup and doing his best to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

If it is simply communicated to him that the loan is simply a short-term solution so he gets on the plane to Brazil and that his future will be sorted in the summer, I'm sure it would be fine. At the end of the day, and as cruel as it may sound, he would be happy with it because he's not really in a position of power here. We would like a solution that is best for both parties but realistically we are still a business as Pizy has said and we want the outcome to favour us more so.

A short-term loan allowing KDB to regain his form in time for the WC while also increasing his asking price would be best overall.

If we are so sure about him going to become great, throw in a bonus clause then. For example if he scores 20 goals or having more than 10-15 assists in a single season for the next 3 years then we can add on £5-£10m to the original price. So eventually it would end up a good fee if he really becomes that good anyway. For now he look like a £15m player with potential for more, but then again not every player realize their potential.

Good option but not sure Wolfsburg is big enough to go for such a deal. 15m plus 5-10m add-ons means we are ripping them off.

Got to agree. The world cup does complicate things a bit.

But I'm against the club making a few millions in profit at the expense of KDB's career.
