Kevin de Bruyne

Surely with the injury it means he couldn't pass any medicals if we do get a deal? Or does it?

I remember Villa signing Downing when he was injured when he was at Boro, surely we could do the same?

And if not, i guess we could wait for the January window that is if we are actually chasing for him, or is apart of our plans.

That's right, signing players while injured is not uncommon or against football practices. The hard cold truth as justin already pointed out is that AVB/Gourlay are not too keen/sold on the Belgian wonderkid which may explain why he's fallen off our radar in recent weeks. If we dedicated just a quarter of the energy and time been expended on Modric on him don't you think he would have been wearing that blue jersey by now?

From what I have seen of Piazon, he's far from De Bryune's level. I have no doubt he would improve with time but he's not ready to play first team football for us.

Yeah i agree, just wanted to confirm if that was his position... as i always see people calling him a midfielder.

Me neither!

Did I mention his mom is English? His grandparents still live in England and it's his dream to play in England one day so his grandparents can come and watch.

Love this kid

Really? We have manger with similar background, he is great even if bitter pundits say he is going to leave before the end of this year.

On another note, doesn't Piazon play there?

Every time i've seen him play, he was on the left wing.

You must have seen him during the U17 world cup, he is more of a second striker then a winger. The reason why he was playing out of position was to ensure that Adryan and Piazon were on the pitch.

Piazon is intesting prospect, i think he will play in midfield once he comes to europe. But atm he doesn't have a position.

His playing style is kinda similar to McEachran, they play different positions but their game is kinda similar.

It's interesting how some think that he is nothing special...Imo he has a lot to show

It turned indeed quiet around De Bruyne and Chelsea. Last transfer rumour i read was that Roma were scouting him end of july.

4 - 6 weeks isn't that bad, first was feared for half season or worse.. Still sad he isn't playing against Maccabi Haifa..

Terrible translation, I know. But he basically said, there's still a pretty good chance of him signing for Chelsea. But if signed, he'll most likely stay at Genk for one more year.

Good news.

This deal should have been done a long time ago. And why are contemplating on loaning him out to genk for another year. that's just stupid and illogical. I relish the day common sense would be put to greater use at the club.

Yeah, I totally agree. We should bring him into the clubs to rot in the reserves. Nice logic.

He's not good enough for Chelsea yet. You don't want him to have a first year like Sturridge do you? The only thing I'd do different is loan him out to a team in a stronger league.

Kevin Debryune is a winger and fulfills our most pressing need at this time. people can use the tired and over-used argument of "he's too young and unproven in epl" all they want but this kid is already 4x better than Malouda and Kalou and will be a great improvement from our current options on the wing.

He's 4 times better judging on what? A league equivalent to League 1?

Another tired age argument hey. . .. why I'm I not surprised.

When will people understand that quality supercedes age/experience. How old was wilshere, chicharito, Rooney, ronaldo when they shone in the epl?
