To be honest - I actually don't rate him all that much... Yeah he has potential, but he seemed nervous and awkward...

Whereas, Hazard + Marin literally hit the ground running... I guess for me that's the sign of an 'established' player vs 'potential' player - an established guy gets on with the job, whilst the 'potential' needs time to settle...

I admit KDB impressed me more than Kakuta (who looked absolutely shite! - why did we sign him :( )

For Christ's sake, how many times will we have to go through this...?! Hazard earns 540 000 fucking EUROS per month, which does 135k euros per week = £116k at the current exchange rate. All French-spe

The only way KDB is gonna get back in the Chelsea lineup is by actually playing well, something he hasn't done since this summer.

I stayed away from this topic as long as I could — and hopped to do so for the upcoming months — but I am too bothered by what's going on in this topic. And, Choulo, if I'm quoting you on this, it's n

Perhaps a little off-topic discussing this in De Bruyne's thread, but here goes anyway. Kakuta was signed when he was 16 and he had massive potential at the time, definitely one of the hottest prospects in world football. Sadly for us not all of these signings work out the way we want them and Kakuta's development has stalled, reasons for which Chelsea are partly responsible and then some unexpected twists and turns. Our club has mistreated him with limiting his playing time to only reserve and youth games for too long and then we have sent him on pointless loans a bunch of times now. He has also suffered some injuries which have affected his development as a player. Obviously the potential is still there to be found and many people forget he's only 21 years old because he has been hyped to become a world beater since around 2006 and the expectations have always been huge, but something needs to happen and fast.

It's decision-making time now regarding Kakuta. Either we place our trust in him and try to help his development any way we can by at least giving him a proper chance to prove his worth or we cut our losses now and sell him to some second-rate club where he could end up playing for the rest of his career or alternatively he could thrive with being given a chance to play every week and become the player he has always been expected to become. I just hope we'll make a choice we don't end up regretting later on...

If you watch he actually tracked back a lot and is really solid on the ball. I like what I saw. He also looked hungry for the ball, which is what a large amount of players in our squad lacked during the League games. I was refreshing if you ask me.

Calm down. He's like 19. Hazard and Marin are years older and are coming from significantly better leagues. And it was his first ever match in a friendly FFS!

He's 21 bro. But overall his movement was impressive and he tracks back for defense. Will be a good candidate for CM.

No need for the FFS!

You are entitled to your opinion, me mine!

I just don't see him making it at Chelsea - happy to be proved wrong tho...

I didn't rate him in the games against us either.

But that's what makes football, football! Differing opinions...

Edit - dam iPad and tiny box - oh we'll you can read my reply...

He was not as impressive as Hazard and Marin atm doesn't mean he won't be in a couple of seasons, and he should still get some games if the season is a long as it could be.

I bet you all any money this guy will be a class player, you can tell he is. Ronaldo has had lots of games like that, so does Hulk, when they just overhit everything, like he overhit passes and shots but you can tell he has the mentality to pick out that pass, that amazing blistering power on his shots. You can't always look at this side on some players.

Some players are just not good enough or bad, but sometimes you can tell they are good like that. He will impress, i am confident in De Bruyne.

People did not want Oscar cause we have KDB.....another list of people to get shot!

KDB is simple lost. Second game and has not shown much. At least Marin has been more lively.

Sorry but he should be loan, and even then I don't think he has the potential to be a great player in Chelsea.

From now on, I would not take any word from any Belgium fan here. They have sold us lies!

Lukaku and KDB are nothing but hyped up.

On the contrary, he has shown he has good technique and he likes to pick his passes. Secondly he has shown that he's not a winger but a CM and that is where he should be played.

That's quite normal, isn't it? Marin is much more experienced playing at this level. Has been a regular at a Bundesliga-club for some years now and is a German international.

De Bruyne is coming from a small league and doesn't have that much experience. You can see he is playing rather safe at moment, with his main focus being not to lose the ball much. Give him time to adapt to the level of Chelsea.

Thank fuck you're not our manager.

Kevin was everywhere in the first half; he showed great stamina and excellent work ethic imo. He covered and helped Paulo out every single time. His defending is excellent for a midfielder though he obviously prefers to play more centrally. His link up with Hazard was a joy to watch. He was, imo, our best attacker in the first half. I think the boy has a very bright future.

I'd be happy to buy back Hazard, KDB, Lulu and Courtois for a few quid, if you really need to get rid of them. The other Belgians "we dubbed" talented did do quite good in EPL, no? (dembele, Fellaini, Kompany, Vermaelen,...) They were older and more experienced though. There aren't many 21 year olds and younger who can take such a big step that quickly. Well except Hazard, but he had a smaller step to take. :)

Seriously though, Lukaku isn't ready for this, you're right. I think he's got the potential though, but he still has a lot of the basic stuff to learn. Anderlecht really failed him in the youth Academy ( thank god Genk does a better job :)) where they learned him nothing and just let him use his strenght to boss other youth players around. I remember his former coach, now coach of Copenhagen, he still needed to teach him the very basics. Now playing almost no games and having even less training due to the amount of games Chelsea plays, it only hurts his progress more. I think he should go on loan, but the team should be picked carefully. If they can't help him progress again, he might never really get there.

KDB is also not completely on schedule as he just lacks high level experience. He didn't do too bad in CL though, but he did play it safe in those games. Give him playing time and so and he might make some impact already at the end of the season. If not give him a year at right table team in England or a high profile German team and I'm quite sure he comes trough.

In other words you're right. Only Hazard seems like a real contender if not guaranteed part of the new starting eleven. But have some faith in youngsters until they have had enough time, experience and chances to impress. :)
