I think KDB is a Mata type of player, but even more of a risk taker but also better athlete.

He has limitations just like Mata where in some instances he would look poor while other times he'd look like the best player on the pitch.

He just needs to find the best fit for him. Don't think he should come back to Chelsea.

From all the top European teams, I reckon City would be the best fit for him as they don't ask much else of their attackers than just attacking. But then again you could argue, this is their downfall in cup competitions.

Do you like forward thinking players or is it a safe back pass that makes you jump out of your seat?

Among the top BuLi players for assists KDB comes off well ... Mueller (71%; a pass success percentage lower than that of KDB) isn't nearly as constructive as KDB while Bayern have the highest pass accuracy in the BuLi, Junuzovic's pass success percentage is even below 70%, etc.

PS KDB's pass success percentage was over 80% in the EL and during the Brazil2014 campaign.

Muller is a striker /forward while KDB is an attacking midfielder, so obviously strikers normally have below 80% but not midfielders.

I'll obviously love some risky passes as long as we can press and collect it back when the pass is poor. But compared to midfielders in top teams in the Champions League, I'm struggling to remember who has below 80% possession (75% to be exact)

Mueller isn't exactly a convential striker (he provided the 2nd most assists in the BuLi and that's why he got a mention) ... why don't you compare KDB to Junuzovic, the second-most creative BuLi player, with a pass success percentage that's even below 70%?

For a Wolfsburg player KDB's pass success percentage is what you'd expect it to be ... if KDB was a Leverkusen player his pass success percentage would probably drop (e.g. Bellarabi 65% or Calhanoglu 67%) ... if he was a Bayern player, most likely it would go up. Next season we can judge KDB's performances in the Champions League ... I'm betting his pass success percentage will be over 80%.

IMAO the solidity fetish is reaching perverse levels

De Bruyne is the most dangerous player in the Europe League this season:

Created chances:

1. Kevin De Bruyne (Wolfsburg) - 48

2. Mathieu Valbuena (Dinamo Moscow) - 35

3. Dries Mertens (Napoli) - 24

According to Squawka he has created 88, one more than Hazard on 87.

Luckily their team attackers don't defend, so they score and get scored against. The day it doesn't work, they collapse like against Napoli, the day it comes off they beat bayern 4-1.

But but but getting attackers to defend is anti football.

That match sums up Rafa, can be absolutely brilliant in one of cup games but is average in league regulations.

Rafa is excellent at knock-out competitions. If ivanovic didn't screw up against swansea, we would have won the carling cup along with the Europa League.

That's the thing with Rafa, he's a really good tactician and managed to outsmart Mou, Capello, Mancini, Fergie amongst others in one off cup games, his problem has always been when it's not working, he doesn't react quick enough and the team suffer, that's why he has barely had a sniff at a league title for over a decade.

You forgot to mention his love for rotation...
