The Mak 4,459
All the best to him. Sometimes you just have to accept that it just doesn't work out. It's a shame, because he's already extremely good and is only going to get better. But it seems like he wasn't mentally strong enough yet for a Mourinho team. He'll do well at Wolfsburg. He'll walk into their team and be their shining light; they don't have a better player. Enjoy it Kev! I just hope we don't come across you in a few years and end up embarrassing us! kellzfresh 7,229
Hope we have a buy back option. But even at that, our attackers are still young.
Jase 43,479
3-5 years down the road, we'll be bidding £50 million for De Bruyne...(never expected this thread has to be moved to 'Ex-Blues' this early)
Thendo 1,088
Shame he joined us at a time when we had abundance of attacking midfielders, hard to break through and get a solid spot in the team with players like Hazard,Oscar, Willian, Mata above you. Goodluck to him and hopefully he will be a success in bundesliga!

Billy. 2,742
didnt have the right attitude nor have the fight to earn his place IMO. best of luck to him tho De Bruyne—"I didn't leave Chelsea because I have to go to the WC - it could be over after three games - but just because I lost my joy"
zyzz 711
Bought for €8m and sold for about €20m. At the end of the day its good business. Wish him all the best. The only place to be, Barbara and sdrcfc
bushman 2,043
Some succeed, others do not. KDB was one of those that didn´t make it.Personally, I feel the club made the right decision here. To me, his ability, play skills were exaggerated.

didierforever 7,349
Some say 16mil pounds while others say 20mil pounds while some reports say 16+4mil add ons. Any thing concrete? Also what would be clauses for the add ons??
Jype 6,398
I wish him all the best.Quality player but still way behind our other attacking mids and judging by reports he wasn't willing to fight for his place as hard as everyone else so it would have been hard for Mourinho to give him a bigger slice of the pie when the others were playing well too. Good move for all parties I would say, we made a big profit on a player we didn't really need but Wolfsburg will be getting a great player for a reasonable price and with De Bruyne's contribution they might even qualify for the Champions League next season. Steve 10,227
All the best to the lad! Never really given a full chance but you have to earn that place at a club like Chelsea and Jose knows best. I'm sure he will make first team football at Wolfsburg, so good luck to him!! sdrcfc

Many players were or are as a shoe-in. KDB failed at Chelsea, I feel.

The games he did play, he had some good moments and had some bad ones but I just don't think he could get into the squad over the players we have in his current positions. The players playing at the moment deserve to be in the team and he was not good enough to force them out. The Mak

Under Jose, Chelsea´s players are expected to be tough mentally. KDB was not.
