Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
.......So get 2 and sell 3? That would leave us with even less depth than now....Keep as many as humanly possible. Other teams are packed with players. It's time we were too, otherwise we won't win the title. AM/Wing positions: Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Marin, Moses, Schurrle and KDB. That looks good to me. KDB can play in midfield and Schurrle as a ST sometimes as well.Word.I used to always be of the notion a smaller squad (not as small as this years, but still smaller) is the way. It keeps players playing and eventually different players will step-up at different moments given their chances of lots game time. Players aren't compelled to go OTT once given their chance as more would surely come along (A la Moses) but this year was not the year to this, especially as we were in the midst of a transition.Essin and Mierles would have definitely offered great cover at times (not superb MOTM moments like some are thinking essien would have had, but cover none-the-less). But whatever man, this years behind us and I just don't want us to go through THAT any time soon.
JDY 1,290
The funny thing is if it was the other way around and we were buying KdB from Dortmund, we would be paying upwards of £25m for him. 15m euros is an absolute insult, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if the board do sell for that. That being said, until I see him holding up the Dortmund shirt I won't believe a thing. yuvala and Jype
Jype 6,398
Because thay have 37m for Gotze and can buy De Bruyne AND Eriksen for less. Actually strengthen the team while losing its best raw talent. That's the Dortmund way. You lose Barrios ? You get Lewandowski. You lose Kagawa ? You get Reus. You lose Gotze ? You get De Bruyne and Eriksen.Yep, that's the way it should be done instead of doing a Wenger, as in replacing the outgoing stars with second rate players in hope of them becoming better in the future. Also, replacing Nuri Sahin with Ilkay Gündogan is definitely right up there with the deals you mentioned. Jürgen Klopp has done an amazing job in the past few years and after all these transfers it really shouldn't be a surprise to anyone seeing De Bruyne becoming one of the best midfielders in the world within only a couple of years if he goes to Dortmund. Klopp's track record with these kind of deals should be the last wake-up call for the Chelsea board to realize how good this guy is and that losing him for peanuts would be a huge mistake. Jype 6,398
You guys are going to hate the board that got OScar, Mata, Hazard, etc.......True, they bought those players and it's amazing to have them. Even so, they are now supposedly about to sell De Bruyne, who's already as good as any of those three, for nearly a break-even price without letting him even once feature in a Chelsea shirt and then they surely go on and buy another flavor-of-the-month player for £30m to come and play with the other £30m men we already have when they could just as well recall De Bruyne for free and play him. As a Real Madrid fan you must be familiar with business like this (Sneijder out for 15m, Kaka in for 65m for example) with Florentino Perez's ridiculous Galacticoes and everything but we as Chelsea fans aren't really used for this so it's perfectly understandable for us to be shocked. If the board seriously sanctions this deal, then they deserve all the stick they can possibly get because I am 100% sure that Kevin De Bruyne will be valued at +30m within a couple of years if we now sell him for peanuts. Sheva. 5,373
We need to stop signing all these young players, only to loan them out and eventually sell them. Save the money and use on more experienced players who will go straight into the first team.. yuvala

Goemaere 131
De bruyne is better than Oscar. De bruyne has the run the most meters in the bundes liga and has created the second most changes of all players. His speed, technique are on oscar's level. His vision is on matas and his crossballs are probably top 3 in the world. We might as well sell Hazard too when we are at it because they are on the same level. Bluelsthecolour 61
It "only" says that De Bryune and BvB agreed on a contract. No freaking way that we will let him slip for 15mEUROS, should be at least 20m£.How stupid can our board be? Not only that they´ve watched De Bryune blossom and become a top prospect but when one of the best clubs in the world at finding young players that eventually will become world stars want to buy him to replace Götze we will sell him almost for free...I really hope the club takes him back. Will without a doubt get really many games already next season.
Waterfall 893
I'm sure the club will do the right thing. I obviously don't feel as strongly about De Bruyne as most of you do. If we can get a fair price for him, he can go. He's not untouchable like Mata and Hazard for me.
Stats 7,142
If this is true about KDB (which I hope is not) it is like we are following Real Madrid's route but a worse approach. We buy young players basically to sell them and the annoying thing is we spend quite a lot of money and wages on these players. At least with Real Madrid, most of them come out of their academy and then they sell so they are making a huge profit really. Soldado, Mata etc but their policy works, maybe they can give them more time before selling them but I hate this approach with the amount of young players we sign for them to not have a future here. Especially when you have done as well as KDB in his loan, we can't consider selling him, just principles, what kind of message do we want to send out? Goemaere 131
Must be fun to see at the acadamy. A fellow under 21 year old displays world class preformances and is rated as one of the 10 best bundes liga players and we simply sell him off and try to buy schrulle who has half the class the bruyne is. Then we loan them out for 2-3 seasons, see if the manager wants them or just sell them off.We could have one of the best attacking trios in European football over the next decade: Hazard - Mata - De Bruyne/Oscar (assuming one of them eventually becomes more of a CM)Signing Torres was a mistake, selling De Bruyne would be disgraceful. Stats 7,142
Dortmund chief executive/DOF remaining coy on reports that KDB is about to join them. Sky sports reporting this and I smell blood. He is on his way out, I am sure. How are we even contemplating selling him when one, he has not even played here yet, 2, he has had a brilliant season and 3 he is one of the best young and improving players to emerge out of Belgium. Are we seriously crazy? Going to go out on a mission to execute whoever responsible if true.
