mediator 2,026
Woauw dortmund is a really great team for a young prospect like Kevin. With Klopp he can flourish and become a real gem.Would be a great move for him, and 17M € not a bad deal for chelseaIf that's true, we will see offers including KDB + cash for Lewan in the daily fail
Leif 6,006
I'd rather get Schurrle and Lew in as our striker than keep De Bruyne. There, I said it. Now stab me with your pitch forks and sticks of fire. We love how great of a crosser De Bruyne is, right? Well he won't be getting those crosses in if Hazard is starting in his favoured position as he'll be on the bench, and even when he does play, who's going to get on the end of those crosses? (Assuming we don't get some huge aerial threat in the Summer.) Mata? Ramires? No. Demba Ba and Torres aren't exactly incredible in the air either. For his own career, if i was his agent or parent, I would do everything I could to convince him to leave us and sign for Dortmund. They have some of the world's best support, best players, best stadium, pretty much amongst the best everything, and work very well with younger players. I'd feel like a dickhead if we were to hold him back from all that and prevent the world from seeing how talented he can be.Also just a note, but to my knowledge, he's played less than 5 minutes in the 'pivot' (hate this word) throughout his whole professional career. It's a myth that he can play there; more of a hope. Eden2020, Peace. and Spike

It's a myth that he can play there; more of a hope.Well, I personally think it would be just lunacy to let this kid go. Especially because he is already ours and is proving himself as we speak in the Bundesliga AND in the belgian NT (where he established himself as a starter - not an easy task considering the competition there) and considering his age. Why would we sell him ? Because he can cross and we have no 'king of the header' running around? We are screaming for someone with a good cross, actually. A cross is also MUCH more than just designed to be headed. KDB is actually quite the specialist in crossing the ball right behind enemy lines - not just the high balls. Also, he is one of those players that speeds up play enormously when played central - something we lack today (together with fighting spirit/force in the pivot) and is always fighting. Torres, Ba AND Lukaku will be benefitting hugely from his distribution, passing distance and abilities. Hazard and Mata - who love quick play actually need a guy like this. The belgians on here can vouch for the fact that Hazard looses a lot of his abilities when he is played standing still. He - Hazard- needs to be in movement when being played the ball, as is the case with Mata. This is something KDB does and even Hazard has admitted he loves that about him in the NT. He also does it with great vision (the result sometimes is he puts too much risk in his play)Also, it is true he isn't a real pivot player, but it is also bollocks that a pivot consists out of two DM's - so how can anyone be so sure he can't play that deeper - on a CM role (which in fact he has dome a lot before - any Genk belgians who know this?), actually?Even further, What if we get a real DM and we get Oscar back in a more deep lying playmaker role, then who will take his place in the AM? Who is there now when we want to rotate Mata or Hazard - god forbid any of the three becomes injured. It makes all the more sense to have a guy that can perform as Hazard (even better with a long ball) both central AS on the wing. why would you think of Schurrle? Because he is an established striker in contrast with KDB. Well, Schurrle actually is not. Sorry to say. I'd rather take my chances with Lukaku or even get a real striker. Taking everything into account - this kid just needs to be here. Who are we kidding .... Jype 6,398
Why on earth is the club considering selling De Bruyne, or even loaning him out? When a team like Dortmund, a much better team than us at the moment if I might add, really wants this player then he most definitely is good enough to play for us as well. Of course we all knew this already but Dortmund contacting Chelsea about De Bruyne's availability should be the final confirmation if someone at the board is too thick not to have seen it before.Only way I'm going to be even relatively happy to see a gem like De Bruyne leave to Dortmund is if we get Lewandowski in exchange. I would still not accept it because in my opinion we shouldn't let go of De Bruyne when he is the type of player our squad could really use right now and Lewandowski should be available at around £25m anyway so it would still be beyond moronic to give De Bruyne to them just to lower the price a little but at least in that case we would get something good out of the deal as well. If we simply sell him for £15m and not even get Lewy in exchange, I have no words. Hamilton, mediator and Stingray

Not that I'm not agreeing, he should be given a chance to play in the Chelsea's first squad as his position is up for grabs. End of the day if Dortmund are to make a good offer, then it's understandable for Chelsea to sell.Sure, it makes every bit of sense for Dortmund to want him as he has been one of the most impressing midfielders in the Bundesliga this season but it makes no fucking sense for Chelsea to sell him on the cheap. We paid £8m for Kevin little over a year ago and just look how much he has improved since then, why should he be sold for only little over £5m more than what we originally paid for him when a team that's better than us wants to buy him? I could understand selling him if it would mean making a good profit on a player who has never even put on a blue shirt or if we were to get a great player in exchange (say Lewandowski) but good profit sure as hell ain't £5m as we must have spent that much on De Bruyne's wages, agent fees and signing bonuses alone.I can fully understand if De Bruyne himself wants to move to Dortmund, they are a great club with great fans and surely he would have a more stable position over there than at Chelsea but what I can't understand is why Chelsea are reluctant to even give him a chance. Why shouldn't we get that same £15m for a little over 20-year-old Belgium national team regular even if he were to be deemed not good enough for us? Surely his performances this season would still attract interest from the Bundesliga in a year or two. mediator 2,026
If he is sold to Dortmund, that would be a good "SHORT TERM" deal for everyone. Profit for chelsea, and a true gem for dortmund, and btw, a nice place to develop for KDB.But i hope that the board can give us a nice prospect to play the regista role next year, i think they will regret it
mediator 2,026
If he is sold, i can see it as a signal for every future prospect : "Don't sign for chelsea, even if you are good enough for first team, you won't play for them, you will be sold to make profit".Think about it since we are signing every u16 -> u19 hot prospects around the world. I've been watching more of his games, and coming to think of it, we would just have similar problems which we have now, defensive problems. If he was to come back here, it probably would be best to play him in CAM position, however that's only if we are playing 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 HE HAS to play in midfield.
