we spent in excess of 80mil this summer (32 costa, 30 cesc, 17 luis, 10 remy). infact we have spent around 90mil pounds. so i dont think FFP will stop us in any way to buy pogba if we really want him.

right now all we need to be "perfect" is to add a CM like pogba. we have shown to be a bit circumspect defensively.

also, we will be making a lot of money buy selling players we dont need next summer.

salah+schurrle (atleast 25mil), cech (10mil), bertrand (8mil), moses+marin+kakuta+mikel=15mil. this itself is in excess of 55mil. we have other fringe players like thorgan, piazon, romeu, mvg who we can sell too.

for me, currently, the priority has to be a CM and a CB. we can give zouma a proper run in before splashing money on a CB but a CM like pogba however costly should be a must.

You don't pay 'max' for anything, it entirely depends on many factors as well. With Pogba that is hype, marketing, age, ability, attraction to other top clubs(MU, Real...etc) linked. It is all good and say we will only pay 30-50m, but Real will come in and do 80m. We will lose then, so it all depends on if we want the player badly enough to match it.

Personally I don't think he is worth 80m.

Matic, Pogba, and Oscar are all fairly dynamic players, true, but I don't think Mourinho would ever want to have such a general lack of pace in the starting 11, particularly if Terry and Ivanovic are to remain starters themselves; the team would be too vulnerable to counters. I'm afraid if Pogba comes in, then Oscar goes out, simple as that. Oscar could be retained as a high quality squad player, but he would probably not accept such a scenario, and ultimately we would recoup about half the Pogba transfer fee with his sale.

I suppose so. I personally believe if we do get Pogba, Ramires or Oscar will go the other way, but the former is more likely.

Kroos (just bought for future) and Modric (key part of team) will not leave for some time. They dont need him, but who knows Real is greedy after all. I guess Perez never learned and will dump Modric sooner or later for Pogba, losing one player that is key for them and buying unnecessary. In that case we could just snap Modric, like we did with Makelele. Real cant have them all.

It would be unwise to go in money race with Real, even though Pogba is great player and will be among top 5 for next 10 years IMO.
