He's been working on those biceps

Haha I always wondered how he got those ridiculously oversized biceps when the rest of him is rather slim given his height. Now I know it. His biceps insertions are so short he can virtually just look at a dumbbell and grow some muscle there

Great performance yesterday btw. Credit where it's due. Broke one of Hulls better players's skull and the guy they sent of for Mason was awful. Sounds cynical but sort of won us the gamen even before he eventually sealed it himself.

We really need a good left-footed defender there, Aké needs to step up asap and get his spot ready for next season.

His performance yesterday left me short for words, he will just never have a comfortable 90 minutes on the ball, always looking out of balance and struggling, thus making our build-up so slow and perillous.

His defending on Rashford was comical at times, as soon as Luiz had missed his header we all knew Rashford had the better of Cahill, it was just a matter of when he will get his shot away.

He has stepped up to be fair to him, especially after that debacle at Arsenal where he was atrocious, and has been a fairly decent captain over the course of the season, but we definitely need better replacement, either Zouma, Aké, Alonso somewhere or a good DB to come next season.

I've said plenty about Gary since he's been here but God bless him, he's is obviously committed and a happy member of the club.
He's living the dream. He could've easily been playing for Stoke instead of Chelsea all these years.

Indeed. He will never go down as a real legend, because he isn't as good as Terry ever was for us for example, but he will be regarded as a cult hero at Stamford Bridge and will always have the respect from our fans.

He looks completely clueless when someone runs at him with the ball. Remember the Lukaku goal in the FA cup and then Rashford had him on skates against United. Against good attackers he's a mistake waiting to happen. I hope he's relegated to a squad role next season.

I've never disliked the old gurner. His character is what our players need to have more of.

Not one of us doubts ih love, passion and enthusiasm for the club but this really can't be a time for sentiment.

If we could keep him on the bench to just use for set pieces then great, keep him. But unfortunately our defence needs more than Gazza can give us and he needs upgrading.

Also I cant see Ake,Christensen or sadly Happy having enough to help us in Europe neither. Whether Christensen will be good enough to keep to work with we shall see. But Contes got some big decisions to make and this is one.

Get in, Gary! Great game from the skipper.

But unsurprisingly because it is Cahill, not much said. Now if it was the other way round and he was poor, this thread prob would be on page 155 talking about how bad a defender he is. A real unsung hero of this team.

I give the guy his dues WHEN he deserves them. which is more fewer than often, but IMHO he doesn't offer us enough to keep him as a regular starter.

If we could just bring him on for offensive fset pieces then off again Id keep him (and same with Iva)

Conte has turned this guy into one of the best CBs in the league.

Cant wait to see what he does with Zouma.

I just can't agree with this I'm afraid.

For me, Gaz is exactly the same player he was last season when he was taking the blame for things which were not his fault. Scour the world, select the best centre back you can think of, partner him with a clearly past it John Terry to his left and Branna to his right, then play him behind our front six of last season. The result will be chaos.

Antonio hasn't improved Gaz, he's improved the team and that seems to be allowing many people to get a better take on our number twenty-four's capabilities.

From day 1 until even before our game today, he's struck me as having a pathetic mentality for a top team, and it eats at me. A, 'I'm lucky just to be taking part - lucky just to be competing against the best in Europe!' mentality. No desire to be nor any self belief in being truly great. Not even good enough for Tottenham; his potential is Everton. For anyone who agrees with me, it's like having stakes in a top company, which by default needs everything to go flawlessly, and as a shareholder knowing that the slightly retarded, Make a Wish Foundation kid is still manning an important role even after being given his sympathy month on the job. Let's get back to the real world now; you can't let someone do what they want forever just because they're a chummy lad, especially when there are experts at much smaller companies wasting away, experts who could elevate your company to a truly elite status. Little Johnny would find himself work at a new company, no doubt one of big clout despite his lack of expertise, because that's what being associated with the best does - it creates a halo-effect - which Cahill is currently blessed to have disguising his inadequacy.

I'll never believe my eyes when people pretend that him being English isn't the only reason he hasn't been exiled. Make him Colombian and he'd have been sold 2 years ago.

BREXIT BREXIT BREXIT

Totally agree though, I said the same in another post on Friday. He's the weak link in our defence and is only "taking part" because he's the token English player. Careless and clumsy, useless on the ball. People think a couple of worldie-blocks and the odd penalty box poacher's goal make him a good centre-back. He's bench quality at best.

(Watch him score a hat-trick and send Zlatan back to Sweden now I've said this).
