Tomo 21,751
Not going to lie, i was screaming into my I pad when i saw it was Cahill and not Luiz starting, not only does Luiz always play well against Arsenal, i felt we needed a proactive defender in this type of match. But he had a good game, really good game, made that vital interception in the first half, that prevented whoever was behind him having a tap in, Barbara, The only place to be and BlueLion.

BlueLion. 21,491
He was very good last night, credit where it is due. Barbara
The Skipper 20,609
We were set up in a way that suits Cahill and he played very well. Good game from him.
Popular Post! didierforever 7,349 Posted December 24, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted December 24, 2013 GC was good last night but as i have been saying for long, its mostly cos he got the proper cover from our mid. he was poor in the sunderland game but that fact was exaggerated by how hopelessly open we were in the mid in the last 45-50 minutes of the game. once agian, our CBs are good but they are not given the proper cover from the mid. Henrique 9,133
He wasn't the man of the match but he had a really good game. Luiz is a better footballer, but right now its really hard to justify Cahill on the bench and Luiz playing. Barbara

ONE game changes nothing, especially not when that game was a defensive, sit deep flawless tactic game.
robsblubot 3,595
This (against pool) was the best I ever seen from Cahill; not only great tackles, but good anticipation and distribution. A bit of warning concerning that tackle on Suarez: many European or WC referees would have shown a straight red.
Mouri_Matic 560
Never the best but always reliable, will stay at Chelsea for many years to come, well done mate.
Ainsley Harriott 2,732
He still has his faults, but he is improving a lot. This man is one of the best clutch tacklers in the world. Barbara and Mouri_Matic

Barbara 15,149
It really makes me happy to see him improving. I guess he's not only playing well, but improving as a footballer. He was once again flawless and I don't see any way Luiz could displace him based on their current form. I may even be willing to change my opinion about his overall status. If he keeps improving and positions himself like he did today more often, I just can't consider him a squad player anymore, he'll be first team material regardless of the other options we have. It's also very good to have him this confident and solid, so we can rest Terry more often without getting nightmares about a partnership between Gary and David. I think he had a better match than Terry today and not because Terry was shocking - both were very solid - but because he was simply more solid imo. Way to go, Gary!
